Heart 2 Heart ~ Green Thumb

Welcome to another weekly challenge with Heart 2 Heart!

This week we have a fun challenge ~ Green Thumb. This is open to interpretation it could be plants, flowers, or even just using the color green. Have fun with it and just remember to use at least one Close to My Heart product.

I have been seeing this technique called the Borgello Technique and have been wanting to give it a try. I started with white cardstock and then sponged Sweet Leaf, Green Apple, Fern and New England Ivy inks to create the background. I then cut the paper into 1/2 inch strips then attached them to a second white cardsock. I then ran the two layers through my die cutting machine using the Stitched Rectangle Thin Cuts. I used the Stitched Square Thin Cuts with New England Ivy to make the frame around the koala. I used the A Koala-ty Day Stamp and thin cut. I colored the koala with markers. I did use Black Pigment Ink with Clear Embossing Powder.

Now it is your time to create something and link it to the HEART 2 HEART Challenge. You have until August 31st to participate in this challenge. Make sure you include at least one Close to My Heart product. We love to see your inspirations!!

I then used my journaling pen to ink around the flower so it would look more like the others. I colored the rest of the images with my markers. I did fussy cut the leaves and flowers. I used my watercolor paints to color the hill my Gnome stands on.

Color Dare #404 ~ Happiest Place

This week we have another Fun Color Dare Challenge for you.  This week for Color Dare #404 we have our popular Tic-Tac-Toe board this time it is focused around the Happiest Place papers.  For this challenge you can use any diagonal, row or column, you can add in any of the other colors shown.  Blacks & Whites and all Neutrals are FREE.

Some times it pays to procrastinate. I purchased this Minnie/Mickey mini album from Ginni Candelaria in May of 2019. I knew we planned a trip to Disneyland in November of 2019. My original intention was to give it to my son for Christmas2019. Despite the best intentions, it did not happen. To be honest I am so glad as the original album used a lot of raspberry. I substituted the original papers and used the Happiest Place papers and cardstock. Here are a couple of phots of the album.

I also love the Happiest Place Stamp set & Thin Cuts. I am so excited to surprise my son this Christmas with this album.

Here is another photo of a couple of pages.

Here is the album cover. I used Glacier ink to color the paint and to sponge the circles. I used my Black Shimmer Brush to color the wood words.

Now it is your turn to create! Just create a project (card, layout or other craft project) using this weeks colors.  Then link them to the Color My Heart Blog ~  Color Dare #404  or you can post them to the COLOR MY HEART FaceBook page.  For this Color Dare Challenge, you have until Thursday, August 4, 2020 at 10:00 p.m. Eastern Time to submit your project.   We love to see your inspirations.

Heart 2 Heart ~ Favorite Craft Tool

Welcome to another weekly challenge with Heart 2 Heart!

This weeks theme is to Highlight Your Favorite Craft Tool, Narrowing down my favorite tool is tough as there are so many I uses. I have to say using the thin cuts is one of my favorite things and until recently I thought my die cutting machine was great. But I took the plunge and purchased the new Close to My Heart Die Cutting and Embossing Machine. OMG It is amazing!!

Here is the machine, what is amazing is I struggle with my other machines moving and not staying put because it suction cups that help secure it to the table. It also is SOOO much easier to use, I don’t feel like I have had a work out after I finished cutting

Here are the two cards I created. I also really love my Cricut Cutting machine. I created a circle stencil with my Cricut.

I have used this circle several times to sponge backgrounds. For this one I started with Canary and Pixie for the sunset and used Glacier for the water. I then stamped the water wave with Glacier Ink.

I found the Glacier ink faded a bit into the sponged background that is the reason I added Cool Mint Stickles to the waves in the second card. I love this flamingo which is from the Fabulous Flamingo stamp and thin cut.

Now it is your time to create something and link it to the HEART 2 HEART Challenge. You have until July 31th to participate in this challenge. Make sure you include at least one Close to My Heart product. We love to see your inspirations!!

Technique Blog Hop ~ The Pretty of Paper-Piecing

Welcome to the Technique Blog Hop!

This month we are exploring techniques that use Paper Piecing. Stencils can be used in a variety of way to color, add a bit of shine, or splatter. If you are coming from KATY TAYLOR’s Blog, you are on the right track! If you get lost you can find a full list of participants HERE we have about 10 participating in this hop.

So I know you can stamp patten paper piece the pieces together to crate a fun image. I wanted to try something different. I used this image I found on Pinterest.

So I took that original fox and added a few lines and colored how I envisioned.

Here is final image that I settled on. I scanned the image and uploaded it into my Silhouette program. I then created a cut file.

For this card I used the Timber Paper Pack for the background which I cut using the Stitched Rectangle Thin Cuts. I also used some of the papers from the Seasonal Mix ins. I did use one of our retired embossing folders to emboss the Daisy White Cardstock.

For this one I used only the papers from the Seasonal Mix ins. I did use the same Stitched Rectangle Thin Cuts.

Here is the third using another of the paper from the from the Seasonal Mix ins.

Thanks for stopping by!  Please continue onto MISS CARRIE’S CREATION where you will find some additional artwork!  Be sure to leave a comment and let me know what you thought and happy hopping!
