Color Dare # 185 ~Cotton Candy, Sweet Leaf, Topiary, Glacier and White Daisy

Welcome to this weeks Color My Heart Color Challenge!  This week for Color Dare #183 we are featuring  COTTON CANDY, SWEET LEAF, TOPIARY, GLACIER and WHITE DAISY.

Dolor Dare #185

I love the double stamp look and since Close to My Heart has quite a few I wanted to play around with one called Someone Special C1607.  These colors were perfect.

Zoe ~ Someone Special ~ Flowers ~ Color Dare 185n~ CatScrapbooking.com  I cut a frame from the Zoe hounds tooth paper. I used foam to pop it up like a Polaroid photo.  I stamped the flowers in Cotton Candy, the first stamp was second generation and the top was Cotton Candy.  I used Sweet Leaf and Topiary on the leaves but the Topiary is all that really showed.  I stamped the sentiment in White Daisy ink then added White embossing powder.

Preschool Book

My son started preschool last year only going two days a week.  The school he goes to uses Tools of the Mind as their curriculum.  I was so blown away by this program and it was great seeing the growth over the school year.  He came home most of the days with is play plan, science eyes and artwork.  I really wanted to be able to preserve this for him and keep the collection in an organized way.  So I decided to make it into a book.  The pages varied in sizes so I had to find a way to make it all work.  Since the majority of the preschool material was 5 1/5 x 8 I decide I would scan or photograph the large items and reduce them in size to make a 6 x 9 finished bound book.

Zoe ~ Artbooking ~ School ~ Catscrapbooking

I decided to use Zoe as my paper pack for the cover.  I mixed it with pomegranate and honey cardstock.  I used my Artbooking cartrige to cut the apple and photos mat. The new Jennifer’s Hand B1484 alphabet stamp set with Slate ink. I did use my black journaling pen to trace the number to make them stand out a bit.Zoe ~ School ~ catscrapbooking.comOn the inside of the cover I used his class photo and name plate from school. He would come in every morning and find the one with his name on it and then put it on a board depending on the answer to the question of the day.

Preschool book dividers -play plans ~catscrapbooking.com

The play plans are the key to getting them to start writing their names and drawing a picture of themselves.  The will also write their plan for the center they are going to.  For this divider I just wanted to use the stick figure since he started drawing a bit more of one by the end of the year. The title was cut using Artistry and stick figure is a SVG file with my Silhouette.

Preschool book ~ science eyes ~ catscrapbookingThis section did not start until the spring.  They would look at an object and describe it to their friend and then draw it.  He only brought home a few but I wanted to preserve these as well. The title was cut using Artistry and microscope and atom are SVG files with my Silhouette.Preschool book ~ artwork ~ catscrapbooking.com

This was the last section and since most of the artwork was small or too big I just photographed it all and will include a photo of the pieces along with a few of the original artwork.  The title was cut using Artistry and the pallet and brush are SVG files with my Silhouette.

ABC's S ~ Zoe ~ Whimsy Fundamentals ~ Watercolors ~ CatScrapbooking.comI love combining paper packs so I decided to mix Zoe with the Whimsy Fundamental Paper Pack ~ Crystal Blue.  I am so pleased the way these papers blend together.  I am also SO in love with these new watercolor paints. Here is a close up of incorporating the watercolors into a layout. I love the fact you can change a papers color with just a brush STROKE ~ This was simple White Daisy cut title and then I added a little blue watercolor and presto a cool new look.

Zoe Cardworkshop

I have a fun card workshop planned for you.  As you can tell I simply adore the Zoe paper pack!  The colors are awesome and can be used for any occasion.

15-ai-rolled-zoe-papers I designed 4 fun cards ~ two birthdays and two thank you  cards as these are generally the two styles of cards I send out the most.  I will be hosting this card workshop Monday August 31st at 6:30 PM.  I know in my newsletter I said it would be the first Wednesday of the month, but with school starting and new schedules I needed to change to Monday night which ends up being the last Monday of the month.  The cost of the workshop is $12 and I will be offering a reward system for those who come to the classes frequently.  So if you come to 4 classes (and it does not have to be every month) the 5th class is half off.

Take a look at the fun cards you will be making at this workshop:
