Color Dare #333 ~ So Much Happy Tic-Tac-Toe

This week we have another Tic-Tac-Toe Color Dare Challenge for you.  This week for Color Dare #333 it will be using the CTMH color palette from So Much Happy. Please use and identify the three colors in a row of your choice; however, we will allow any or all other colors from the Challenge Board to be included. You can check out the rules on our blog.

I decided to go with the top row ~ Lemon, Lagoon, Sapphire and added in White.

Color Dare ~ Close to my Heart ~ CTMH ~ Catscrapbooking ~ crusin to adventure ~ sail boat ~ thin cuts ~ So much happy

I used two of the pattern papers from So Much Happy paper pack.  I also used the Crusin’ to Adventure Thin Cuts and Stamp Set. To make the waves I used the both sides of Sapphire Cardstock and the negative of the Scalloped border from the Thin Cuts ~ Decorative Border.  I also used the Thin Cuts ~ Stitched Square Frames for the White cardstock. I used the I Heart Us Sequins and the Blue Burlap Ribbon.

Now it is your turn to create! Just create a project (card, layout or other craft project) using this weeks colors.  Then link them to the Color My Heart Blog ~ Color Dare #333 or you can post them to the COLOR MY HEART FaceBook page.  For this Color Dare Challenge, you have until Thursday, March 21, 2019 at 10:00 p.m. Eastern Time to submit your project.   We love to see your inspirations.

Heart 2 Heart ~ The Wearin’ o’ the Green

Welcome to another weekly challenge with Heart 2 Heart!

For this Challenge we are partnering with Double Trouble. Here is how it works….
THING 1: Trouble Maker says, “Let’s celebrate St. Patrick’s Day with the wearin’ o’ the green!” Dress up your project with green as the primary color. It does not have to be a St. Patty’s Day Card…celebrate any occasion.
Don’t stop here… consider Twisted Sister’s optional twist.
THING 3: Twisted Sister says “Good ole St. Paddy’s day is all about finding the Pot o’ Gold… be it in a pint o’ beer or at the end of a rainbow include a “golden touch” on your project for an added chance at our random draw.
This is an OPTIONAL TWIST but you will be awarded an additional chance in Double Trouble’s random prize draw if you include something gold.
THING 2: Double Dare dares you then you are eligible to link your project at Heart2Heart.” and you will receive an additional chance at the Double Trouble Random Draw.

I decided to play around with a couple of techniques to create a fun pattern for the clovers.  I will start by showing you my favorite of the cards and then break down the techniques and show you all the versions of the card.

For all of these cards I used the Swiss Dot Embossing Folder (now retired) for the base and sanded the dots to create contrast.  I used both the Thin Cuts ~ Stitched Hearts as well as the Thin Cuts ~ Basic Hearts.  I used Gold Glitter paper and the Thin Cuts ~ Stitched Square Frames. The sentiment comes from a retired stamp, Holiday Tags, since it is the only one I have that says “Happy St. Patrick’s Day.” I used the Thin Cuts~ Stitched Ovals .  The Ribbon is the New England Ivy Burlap which is on clearance right now.

The first technique I tried was to splatter yellow, blue and green watercolors onto a piece of watercolor paper. I then added water and rolled it around.  I do apologize as I forgot to take a photo of the paper when it dried.

The second technique I tried was to splatter yellow, blue, and green on the All Purpose Mat, then I spritz the mat with water.  Next I smooched the watercolor paper onto the mat.  The photo on the right is how it turned out.

These are how the above technique cards turned out.  The one of the left is the second technique and the one on the right is the first technique.  For these cards I used the Gold Fold paper and White and Gold Ribbon.

The last technique I tried was the shaving cream technique.  I used reinker in the shaving cream, I first started with a simple mixing of the ink in the upper right corner. It did not give me the coverage I hoped so I mixed the reinker more in the shaving cream.

These are the two versions with the shaving cream technique.

Now it is your time to give it a try and link it to the HEART 2 HEART Challenge. You have until March 31 to participate in this challenge. We love to see your inspirations!!

close to my heart ~ catscapbooking ~ moving layout ~ thincuts

I have to be honest I was not sure I would use the one I chose as the base page; however, when I was playing around with this layout this one was perfect. I used the So Much Happy paper pack as well as the So Much Happy Puffy Stickers.

For this detail I used the Thin Cuts – Stitched Circles and Thin Cuts ~ Basic Circles.

I love the number with this stamp set as they fit perfectly in the date box.  I used Smoothie ink to stamp the numbers.

Color Dare #332 ~ Mood Inspiration Board

Welcome to this weeks Color My Heart Color Challenge!  This week for Color Dare #332 we are challenging you with something new! We are using a photo as the inspiration and this week it goes along with St. Patrick’s Day.  Simply design your project using the colors in this photo, how fun is this photo!!

So besides the green the color that pops out to me is the golden color of beer. So I decided to make a this birthday card.

The glass of beer is a Cricut cut that I found on a search.  I used the Just a Little Something Stamp Set (retired) for the happy birthday.  I used Saffron, Clover, White and Charcoal cardstock.  The pattern papers are retired.  I also used the Stitched Rectangle Thin Cuts.

Now it is your turn to create! Just create a project (card, layout or other craft project) using this weeks colors.  Then link them to the Color My Heart Blog ~ Color Dare #332 or you can post them to the COLOR MY HEART FaceBook page.  For this Color Dare Challenge, you have until Thursday, March 14, 2019 at 10:00 p.m. Eastern Time to submit your project.   We love to see your inspirations.

Easter Cards

I have been working on a couple Easter cards for my upcoming March Workshop.  I though I would share them with you.

For this card I used the Seasonal Mix-in papers with Pixie, Glacier, Canary, Mink and White Daisy. I used a couple of stamps sets ~ the Egg-stra Special Stamp & Thin Cuts, The Berry Best, and the Paper Pal Base as the cheeks work great with the bunny,

I did use the ears from the bunny to make the paws, I just fussy cut but you could use the thin cuts as well. I am loving the Stitched Rectangle Thin Cuts and the way they frame the cards. I did bring in two retired products the Pixie Twine and the Pink Sequins.

This card was based off a design from a fellow consultant Jacqueline Peach.  I paired the I Heart Us paper pack with Sweet Leaf and White Daisy cardstock. I used the Bunny Trail and Egg-stra Special stamp sets.

To make the grass, I used the Fringe from the Border Thin cuts.

Heart 2 Heart ~ CASE File

Welcome to another weekly challenge with Heart 2 Heart!

The definition of CASE is to Copy And Share Everything. The Close to My Heart idea books are full of beautiful art work and inspirations. I focused on a card found on page 90 in the Seasonal Expression One Idea Book.

The pattern papers are from Something Fierce and the Seasonal Mix Ins. I also brought in a bit of sparkle with White Glitter Paper.

The sentiment and bow were heat embossed with White Embossing powered using the Egg-stra Special Stamp Set. The sequins are the I Heart Us Sequins. The ribbon is the Mink Twine.

I had so much fun making this one that I deiced to make a second which is almost the replica of the one in the Idea Book.

The only difference with the one on the right and the one in the Idea book is the direction of the pink stripes and the Glitter Paper.

Now it is your time to give it a try and link it to the HEART 2 HEART Challenge. You have until March 3rd to participate in this challenge. We love to see your inspirations!!

Color Dare #331 ~ Brown and White with a Splash of Color

Welcome to another week of Color Dare!  This week we are challenging you to use BROWN and WHITE with a splash of one other color.  NO OTHER COLORS are permitted.

I decided to use Kraft, White and Sugarplum.

I designed a gate fold card using Kraft as my base.  I used and embossing folder to add a bit of texture to the card base.  The flowers were created using the fringe Thin Cut from the Decorative Border set.  I used one strip of white with three strips of the sugarplum for the larger flowers and two for the smallest flower. I used one of the tags from the Fancy Tag Thin Cuts.

I used the Love Blossoms Stamp set for the sentiment and added a few Sugarplum Glitter Gems.

Now it is your turn to create! Just create a project (card, layout or other craft project) using this weeks colors.  Then link them to the Color My Heart Blog ~ Color Dare #331 or you can post them to the COLOR MY HEART FaceBook page.  For this Color Dare Challenge, you have until Thursday, March 7, 2019 at 10:00 p.m. Eastern Time to submit your project.   We love to see your inspirations.

Thin Cuts Blog Hop

Welcome to the Thin Cuts Blog Hop!!

You will be hopping with the same talented consultants who bring you the Stamp of the Month blog hop.  For this hop we are featuring artwork which showcases our THIN CUTS. I am sure you will find a wide variety of inspirations on this hop.

If you are just arriving here from KRISTA HERSHBERGER’S Blog, or just starting at my blog then you are on the right track ~ Welcome!  The blog hop is a great big circle, so you can start here and work your way around. If you get lost along the way, you can find the complete list of participating  consultants on Melinda’s blog HERE.   For this hop we have about 19 consultants participating and you are going to see some fabulous artwork.

I designed this first day of school layout using the So Much Happy paper pack. I also used Candy Apple, Lemon, Lagoon, Kraft, White, Clover, Linen, Sapphire, Black, and Charcoal. I used a couple Cricut cuts and my thin cuts.

I used the adorable Paper Pals Base and Paper Pals Boywith the coordinating thin cuts. Since the thin cut base is for kids and adults I cut the legs a bit so that the kid would be a bit shorter.  I also used a couple of the tags from the Fancy Tag Thin Cuts.

My son who is now 7 will sometimes like to craft with me. He was hanging out with me in my craft room while I was working on the layout.  He asked if he could play with this stamp set too.  I had to share his creation as I think is turned out super cute!! He even added a few of the Paper Pal Pets.

Lovely Layers – CTMH Technique Blog Hop

Welcome to the Close to My Heart Technique Blog Hop!

This month there are around 16 of us highlighting Lovely Layers!  In this hop the participants can interpret this theme title and show you some wonderful artwork. I choose to focus on one of our fun stamps that has multiple layers to it.  This blog hop is a great big circle so you can start wherever you want and continue through to see all the fabulous artwork. If you are coming from MELISSA ROBINSON’S Blog, you are on the right track! If you get lost along the way you can find the complete list of participants on Melissa’s Blog.

I love The Berry Best stamp set as you have the two layers of the strawberries plus the pint. It is such a bright and fun stamp set too.  I used Candy Apple and Clover for the strawberries. Glacier, Sapphire, and Peach for the tag and pint.

I used the So Much Happy paper pack and added White and Clover cardstock.  I also used the cross stitched border from the Decorative Border Thin Cuts on the Clover.

I popped the strawberries and pint up with foam tape and used a bit of White Twine for the ribbon.

Thanks for stopping by!  Please continue onto MISS CARRIE’S CREATIONS where you will find some additional artwork highlighting LAYER!  Be sure to leave a comment and let me know what you thought and happy hopping!

Color Dare #329 ~ Love of Color

Welcome to another week of Color Dare!  This week we are doing another Love of Color challenge.  We have chosen a color pallet for you with six colors.  How to play… you will design something using at least 3 of these colors. Please note Grays and Whites are free but no other colors.

I chose to use Peach, Smoothie, Mint, Linen and a touch of Gold.

I have been wanting to play with our new Stitched Quilted Thin Cuts. So I though this would be the perfect time to give them a whirl.  I used mostly cardstock – Linen, Smoothie, Mint and Peach.  I did use a pattern stamp set to stamp the lighter side of the Peach Cardstock. I really do love the fact our cardstock has the lighter shade on the reverse of the cardstock.  I did use the mint pattern paper from the I Heart Us paper pack.

I added a touch of gold with the gem in the center.  The happy birthday is from Lawn Fawn.

Now it is your turn to create! Just create a project (card, layout or other craft project) using this weeks colors.  Then link them to the Color My Heart Blog ~ Color Dare #329 or you can post them to the COLOR MY HEART FaceBook page.  For this Color Dare Challenge, you have until Thursday, February 21, 2019 at 10:00 p.m. Eastern Time to submit your project.   We love to see your inspirations.
