Sew What?! – CTMH Technique Blog Hop

Welcome to our Technique Blog Hop!  This month there are 13 of us highlighting Sewing techniques,  This can be using our dies that have stitching, stamp sets that have stitching, using pens to create stitching or using your sewing machine to create the stitched look.  This blog hop is a great big circle so you can start wherever you want and continue through to see all the fabulous artwork. If you are coming from KIMBERLY BOWERS BLOG, you are on the right track!

As irony would have it I planned to used my stitched dies to crate my card; however, I cannot for the live of me find my “C” plate to my Cuttlebug.  I went to Hobby Lobby, Michaels and even Walmart but no one carries it. UGH!!!!! So what do you do improvise… I started using different pieces of cardboard to see if I could create the right size shim. Thankfully I was able to find a good combination.  Now I am just waiting on Amazon to send my my new one.

I used the new Love of Color how to book.  I used the color combination Ruby, Pebble, Peacock, and Sugarplum.  I used the love from the Artbooking Cartridge. The “you” came from Colorful Texture Stamp set.  I used the Stitched Heart thin cuts and then used my black pen to create a stitched look.

Color Dare 306 ~ New England Ivy, Saffron and Heather

I am so happy to have my new craft room all set up.  We moved just two weeks ago and I needed a break to craft.  So I stole a bit of time today and took some time to craft.  So I decided to use this weeks Color Dare Challenge for inspiration.

I created this card which can be used for any reason. I used pattern 6 from Make It From Your Heart Volume 4 as my inspirations.

I added a little Gold with my Gold Shimmer Brush.

I used Document paper pack for the New England Ivy pattern. I used New England twine from the Adventure Ribbon bundle. The stamps sets used are Beautiful Friendship Scrapbooking and Happy to be Friends (retired). I used my Thin Cuts Stitched Circles and Scalloped Borders.
Now it is your turn to create! Just create a project (card, layout or other craft project) using this weeks colors.  Then link them to the Color My Heart Blog ~ Color Dare #306 or you can post them to the COLOR MY HEART FaceBook page.  For this Color Dare Challenge, you have until Thursday August 30, 2018 at 10:00 p.m. Eastern Time to submit your project.   We love to see your inspirations.

Color Dare 289 ~ Raspberry, Mink & Juniper

Welcome to this weeks Color My Heart Color Challenge!  This week for Color Dare #289 we are challenging you to use (All and Only) these CTMH Colors: RASPBERRY, MINK,  and JUNIPER.  You are able to use neutrals – Black and White in your design. You can check out the rules HERE.

I have been seeing cards with the sentiment cut out of the card and popped up.  I thought that would be great for this challenge and use a floral design.  Here is how it turned out.

In this view it is hard to see the “TH” as the stamp is pretty bold.  I used the Thin Cut – Block Letters to cut the “Thank.”  The flower is from a retired stamp set called A Budding Friendship D1602 and the “You” if from another retired stamp set called Sunny Thoughts S1802.  Here is a side view:

Here you can see how the letters are popped up.  I used the thick foam tape to pop them up.

Now it is your turn to create! Just create a project (card, layout or other craft project) using this weeks colors.  Then link them to the Color My Heart Blog ~ Color Dare #289 or you can post them to the COLOR MY HEART FaceBook page.  For this Color Dare Challenge, you have until Thursday. May 3, 2018 at 10:00 p.m. Eastern Time to submit your project.   We love to see your inspirations.

Easter Cards Part 2

I thought I would share two more Easter Cards that I created this year.  I love the Easter Animals stamp set and used it to create these two cards.

For the card on the left I used the new Party Banners Thin Cut.  I used a Cricut cut for the one on the right. I did use retired pattern papers.  I also used my water colors to color the animals and backgrounds.

Happy Easter and Happy Crafting!

Purposeful Patterns Blog Hop

Welcome to our Technique Blog Hop!  This month there are 14 of us highlighting our wonderful patterns from our awesome MAKE IT FROM THE HEART Books. This blog hop is a great big circle so you can start wherever you want and continue through to see all the fabulous artwork.

If you are coming from TAMMY LUBICK’S BLOG, you are on the right track!

I chose to use Pattern 12 from the Make It From the Heart Vol 4. I decided to incorporate a technique I saw just a few days ago by Michelle Loncar and then checked out the link to learn about off the edge die cuts.  I did my own twist using Punny Pals Thin Cuts.

For my card I used the Punny Pals stamp set and the thin cuts which are available again for a limited time!!! I used Saffron as the base and then Peacock from the Enchantment Fundamental Paper Pack.  I also use Charcoal cardstock and one of the patterns form the Basic Fundamental Paper Pack.  I also used the Peacock Ribbon and Grey Gems.

Here are the steps I took to make the animal strip.

Step 1 ~ I aligned the thin cuts along the 1 1/2 ” by 5 1/2″ strip.

Step 2 ~ I made my sandwich with the “B” plate on bottom then I aligned the thin metal plate and my top “B” plate.  I made sure the top plates were where I wanted the cut image to stop.

Step 3 ~ Here is what it looked like after running through my Cuttlebug

Step 4 ~ I used my trimmer and scissors to cut between the cut animal

Here is what they looked like when I stamped them.

I just got the adorable Tree Line Border Thin Cuts so I knew I wanted to play with them.

I cut the full length version of the Tree Line Border for the top layer and stamped the sentiment in Sapphire ink from Silver & Gold Cardmaking stamp set. I then used the partial tree line to piece together two parts to make the back layer. I then added some clear and bitty sparkles.

Thanks for stopping by!  Please continue onto ANNEMARIE JULIAN’S BLOG where you will find some additional artwork highlighting this technique!  Be sure to leave a comment and let me know what you thought of my variation and happy hopping!

Color Dare #235 ~ Dreamin’ Big

Welcome to this weeks Color My Heart Color Challenge!  This week for Color Dare #235 we are challenging you to combine to use the Dreamin’ Big Color pallet.  Our usual challenge is to use “all and only” the featured colors, however, ten colors to combine are quite a challenge! So, for this challenge we are asking you to use at least 4 of the colors (excluding the neutrals) without adding new colors from the Dreamin’ Big Color palette.

I love this paper pack as it will be perfect for so many projects.  Today I am sharing a birthday card I created using the cut bugs.

Now it is your turn to create! Just create a project (card, layout or other craft project) using this weeks colors.  Then link them to the Color My Heart Blog ~ Color Dare #235 or you can post them to the COLOR MY HEART FaceBook page.  For this Color Dare Challenge, you have until Thursday March 23, 2017 at 10:00 p.m. Eastern Time to submit your project.   We love to see your inspirations.

Since we are approaching spring break for a lot of people and many will head to the beach, I was inspired to use the Swirly Shells.

For this card I used Colonial White cardstock for the background.  I then took Sea Glass, Chrystal Blue and Glacier to make the water side.  I created the sand look with Dessert Sands, Champagne and Cashmere using a sponge.  I then watercolored the shells.  I used Sea Glass glitter paper and Kraft cardstock.
