Heart 2 Heart ~ Craft On

Welcome to another weekly challenge with Heart 2 Heart!

This challenge is Craft On!  While Close to my Heart does have a great paper pack with this name so that would be an easy way to participate in this challenge. But you can interpret this any way you see fit.

I decided to go with the Craft On Paper Pack.

I had these photos of my son and I, which was not as common for me to have.  Before I started taking selfies and mostly using my cell phone as my camera, there were not as many photos of the two of us as I am generally the one behind the camera. I used the Craft On paper pack, using 4 of the different printed papers.  I also used White Daisy, Emerald, Pixie and Lemon cardstock.  I am loving our thin cuts and used the Stitched Flowers and Fancy Tags.  I could not leave the layout without adding a bit of bling with the Crafty-Loose Sequins.

Now it is your time to give it a try and link it to the HEART 2 HEART Challenge. You have until June 30th to participate in this challenge. We love to see your inspirations!!

Technique Hop – Pocket Power!

Welcome to our Technique Blog Hop!

This month we are focusing on Pockets… Close to My Heart has a wide variety of pockets protectors, flip flaps and our Stories by Stacy.  I love flip flaps as they are an easy way to add more photos to a layout.  I also love the Pocket Plus protectors as they enable you to add more photos.  There are around 8 of us participating in the Pocket Power Hop.  This blog hop is a great big circle so you can start wherever you want and continue through to see all the fabulous artwork. If you are coming from KATY TAYLOR’S Blog, you are on the right track!

I decided to focus on Flip Flaps but with a twist.  I used a 4×6 flip flap to make a shaker card.

I started by random stamping the White Daisy cardstock.  I used Pixie, Lemon, Emerald, Bluebird, Carolina, and Thistle.

I used a post-it note to mask off the balloons as I stamped.  The balloons are from Party Balloons Stamp Set.

After stamping I cut the letters and decided the 4×6 flip flap would work best. I used Thin Cut Block Alphabet to cut the happy.

I trimmed the flip flap and then used foam tape around the perimeter of the flip flap.  Added some of the Crafty Loose sequins.  I decided to use Thistle behind the flip flap to add a bit more color. The birthday is also from the Party Balloons Stamp Set and was stamped on Carolina cardstock.

Thanks for stopping by!  Please continue onto HALEY DYER’S BLOG where you will find some additional artwork using our Pockets!  Be sure to leave a comment and let me know what you thought and happy hopping!

Sweet Girl Layout

One of the paper packs from the new Seasonal Expressions 2 Idea Book is SWEET GIRL. While this paper pack it definitely girly you can totally pick the papers you choose to highlight and tone down the pinks.  I was looking through some of my photos and thought this paper pack would work well with our trip to Antigua in 2015.

So in 2015 my husband and I celebrated our 15th wedding anniversary and we took a wonderful vacation to Antigua and stayed at a Sandals Resort.  We had a fantastic time!

Close to my Heart ~ CTMH ~ CatScrapbooking ~ Sweet Girl ~ Layout ~ 6 photo layout ~ thin cuts I am totally loving the new thin cuts with the Stitched Flowers thin cuts.  I also used the Sweet Girl Complements. The journaling tag is from the Fancy Tags Thin Cuts, I use my one of my copic markers to color the edges of the tag.  I also added some of the Blue Burlap Ribbon to the tag.

Heart 2 Heart ~ For the Love of Pets

Welcome to another weekly challenge with Heart 2 Heart!

This challenge is right up my ally for so many reasons! First, animals are a big part of my life as I am a retired veterinarian.  Second, crafting with animals is one of my favorite things to use in my projects. So when I saw the Rainbow Bridge Stamp and Thin Cuts I knew this was what I wanted to use for this Challenge.

Close to My Heart ~ CTMH ~ CatScrapbooking ~ Rainbow Bridge ~ Pet sympathy ~ Card ~ Thin cuts

Love this sentiment as it is a beautiful way to celebrate a pets passing.

I used my Copic markers to color the dog and the rainbow.  I used Glacier cardstock for the sky with the White Daisy.  I stamped the rainbow on White Daisy and then hand cut it.  I used Lemon for the halo and Candy Apple for the hearts.

I know it is hard to see but I did use the Gold Shimmer Brush to go over the halo.  I also used my yellow Copic marker to color the stars.  The stars are from the loose Gold Sequins and I just ran my marker over them to give them a yellow tint.

Now it is your time to give it a try and link it to the HEART 2 HEART Challenge. You have until May 31th to participate in this challenge. We love to see your inspirations!!

Heart 2 Heart ~ Minty Fresh

Welcome to another weekly challenge with Heart 2 Heart!

This is a fun and simple challenge, simply use the color Mint in your project!! Here is mine…

Have you seen the adorable Little Aussies stamp set?  This was one of stamps I could not wait to play with.  I paired this stamp with The World is Yours papers.  I used my Copic markers to color this cute critter who I believe is an Echidna.  I also used my Mint Shimmer pen to go over all the Mink stamped images. Here is another photo of the card.

Unfortunately the shimmer brush does not show up well in the photos.

Now it is your time to give it a try and link it to the HEART 2 HEART Challenge. You have until May 31th to participate in this challenge. We love to see your inspirations!!

I stamp the sweet women using Intense Black Ink.  I then used my Watercolor Pencils and Waterbrush to add color to the ladies.

I decided to use the Sweet Girl Paper for this card. I wanted to break up all the pinks so I decided to use Sapphire to mat the white stitched image of the girls, which I used the Square Stitched Thin Cuts.  I then used White Embossing Powder for the sentiment.  I used some of the pink sequins from the Crafty Loose Sequins.  I used pattern 29 form the Make it from Your Heart Volume 2 as my design for this card.

Heart 2 Heart ~ Happy Times

Welcome to another weekly challenge with Heart 2 Heart!

This week our challenge is HAPPY TIMES! For me happy times are crafting and in particular scrapbooking even though I am over 4 years behind.  Another happy time for me is getting to spend time with my son.  So today I have a layout that I crated for one of our days spent together from four years ago.  It is sort of interesting that my last design team entry was also a layout that I created of this same location.  This layout is from our first trip to the Sunflower Farm.

For this layout I used the Make It From Your Heart Volume 3 ~ Pattern 25.  I made it a 8 photo page by using (2) 3 x 4 photos instead of a third 4 x 6 photo.  I used the I Heart Us paper pack to create my layout. I used the Mint cardstock as my base.

I used my Cricut to cut the sunflower and the the title.  I used Velum to stamp the I so totally love you which is from this April’s Stamp of the Month ~ Love So Sweet. I used white embossing powder and my versamark stamp pad. I also stamped a few of the butterflies for the Love So Sweet stamp set using Bluebird, Canary and Lagoon inks. I also used the Stitched Heart Thin Cuts.

I decided to add one of the Paper Pals to my layout.  I did shorten his legs so he looked more like a child.  I wanted to mirror the striped shirt my son was wearing so I actually used the shirt from the Paper Pal Gal stamp set but the shorts and shoes are from the Paper Pal Boy stamp set. I could not resist adding the cute dump truck with is from the Crusin’ to Adventure stamp set. I also used some of the stickers from I Heart Us Complements.

Now it is your time to give it a try and link it to the HEART 2 HEART Challenge. You have until April 30th to participate in this challenge. We love to see your inspirations!!

Highlight the Details – CTMH Technique Blog Hop

Welcome to our Technique Blog Hop!

This month we are Highlighting the Details.  This could be focusing on a part of a stamped image, using a variety of different mediums such as water color, markers, ink, etc.  There are around 12 of us focusing on Highlighting the Details.  This blog hop is a great big circle so you can start wherever you want and continue through to see all the fabulous artwork. If you are coming from MELISSA ROBINSON’S Blog, you are on the right track!

I decided to pull out one of my favorite stamps from this Idea Book, Know that I Care.

I used the Feels Like Home paper pack, Espresso Pigment Ink Pad, Stitched Square Thin Cuts and the Quilted Thin Cuts. I started by stamping the flowers from the Know that I Care stamp set using the Espresso Pigment Ink Pad.

I then used the small stitched square from the Quilted Thin Cuts.  I cut out four squares so that they lined up (I did mess up a bit when lining up the flowers on one of the squares). I then chose to color one flower using Sage and Sugarplum.  I did add a bit of the Sugarplum Shimmer Brush to all the areas I colored Sugarplum.

Thanks for stopping by!  Please continue onto DARLYS RECKER’S BLOG where you will find some additional artwork Highlighting the Details!  Be sure to leave a comment and let me know what you thought and happy hopping!
