Heart 2 Heart ~ Craft On

Welcome to another weekly challenge with Heart 2 Heart!

This challenge is Craft On!  While Close to my Heart does have a great paper pack with this name so that would be an easy way to participate in this challenge. But you can interpret this any way you see fit.

I decided to go with the Craft On Paper Pack.

I had these photos of my son and I, which was not as common for me to have.  Before I started taking selfies and mostly using my cell phone as my camera, there were not as many photos of the two of us as I am generally the one behind the camera. I used the Craft On paper pack, using 4 of the different printed papers.  I also used White Daisy, Emerald, Pixie and Lemon cardstock.  I am loving our thin cuts and used the Stitched Flowers and Fancy Tags.  I could not leave the layout without adding a bit of bling with the Crafty-Loose Sequins.

Now it is your time to give it a try and link it to the HEART 2 HEART Challenge. You have until June 30th to participate in this challenge. We love to see your inspirations!!

Happy Crafting!

Make the Cut! ~ Technique Blog Hop

Welcome to our Technique Blog Hop!

This month we are focusing on Making the Cut.  What do we mean by Make the Cut?  Well, Close to My Heart has lots of  fantastic Thin Cuts and our exclusive Cricut cartridges which make wonderful cuts.  There are around 10 of us participating in the Make the Cut Hop.  This blog hop is a great big circle so you can start wherever you want and continue through to see all the fabulous artwork. If you are coming from KRISTA HERSHBERGER’S Blog, you are on the right track!

For my project I used both Cricut and Thin Cuts.

So the flower pot is cut using the Flower Market Cartridge.  I modified it by adding a cut line to allow the White Daisy cardstock to be inserted.  If you are interested in my cut file you can find it HERE.

I used Nectarine cardstock for the pot with the lighter side for the rim.  The flowers were cut using the Stitched Flower Thin Cuts.  I used Smoothie and Fern cardstock and Sweet Girl paper pack.  I used the Fancy Tag Thin Cuts for the tag and used the Wild and Punny Stamp Set for the “thanks”.  I also used the White Burlap Ribbon and Rose Sequins.
