I have been having a bit of fun playing with some fancy fold style cards.  I have been playing with one called Joy Fold Card.

For this card I used the Feels Like Home paper pack. To make this card it is actually very simple.  The base, in this card is 8 1/2 by 4 1/4 inches using Fern cardstock.  I then scored it at 5 1/2 inches.  The second piece I used Sugarplum and it is cut to 8 by 3 inches and is scored at 4 inches.

This is what the card looks like when it is open.

For the front I used one of the tags from the Fancy Tag Thin Cuts for the Thanks.  I used my journaling pen around the edges and used White Embossing Powder.  I used the Mink twine and my Sugarplum Shimmer brush.  I used fern ink to stamp the leaves and used first and second generation ink. I created another Joy Fold card for Heart 2 Heart challenge using this stamp set as well, you can find it HERE.

If you love this stamp set you will want to be sure you purchase it this month as it is only available the month of April and if you spend $50 on qualifying product it could be yours for $5!!

Heart 2 Heart ~ Colour Challenge

Welcome to another weekly challenge with Heart 2 Heart!

Colour Challenges are fun as they give you the start of your inspiration. I decided to try a fun fold card. I stumbled on a Joy Fold card and decided to give it a try.

The base of the card is Glacier cardstock which was cut at 8.5 inches by 4.25 inches.  I then scored it at 5.5 inches. The Peach cardstock was cut at 8 inches by 3 inches and scored at 4 inches. I used the Seasonal Mixin for the pattern paper.

Here you can see how the card opens.

I used the April Stamp of the Month which features the butterflies, sentiments and floral details. I used the Circle Stitched Thin Cuts and the floral border if from the Decorative Border Thin Cuts.

Now it is your time to give it a try and link it to the HEART 2 HEART Challenge. You have until April 30th to participate in this challenge. We love to see your inspirations!!

I know this stamp set would work wonderfully on a scrapbook layout as it is quite large almost 6.5 by 5 inches. I had and idea of how to use it in a card.

I created a frame using Cricut Design Space you can find the file HERE. This card is 6.5 inches by 5 inches. I cut my frame in Sugarplum. I used Watercolor pencils to color the flowers, leaves and words.  I did use Sugarplum to stamp the ribbon behind the “You Make My”. I added a bit of shimmer using the Sugarplum shimmer brush and the Clear Shimmer Brush.

You can see the shimmer a bit more here.  I then added a couple of Sugarplum Glitter gems.

How awesome are these trees?? There are so many things you can do with them from scrapbook layouts to cards.  Here are two cards I made using this stamp set.

Then on on the right has a fall theme to it with the fall colors and using the Grateful Heart Papers.

I used Fern, Goldrush, Pomegranate, Sapphire, and Espresso inks.  I used the Grateful Heart Paper pack and the Grateful Heart Cardmaking Stamp set.

With this card I wanted to go for more of the effect just to show off the trees.  I used Pewter cardstock.  I stamped the tree trunks in Espresso ink and then used versamark for the leaves.  I used White Embossing Powder to make it look like snow.  I add a few Bitty Sparkles and Clear Sparkles, along with a little White Shimmer Trim.

You can’t help but fall in love with adorable girl.  So of course I wanted to focus on her.

So I had an idea to sponge an apple behind this cute little girl.  I used the apple Cricut cut from Artbooking. I sliced the apple with a card base shape and then cut.  I then used the pieces to mask off the areas like this.

I used  my scissors to cut the stem and leaf so they were separate pieces.  I placed the apple and stem pieces to sponge the leaf with Fern.  I then placed the leaf piece and removed the stem to sponge in the stem area using Nutmeg and Espresso inks. Next I sponged the apple.

Placing the stem and leaf pieces I sponged the apple in Ruby.

I used my ShinHan markers to color the little girl and stamped the sentiment on Fern cardstock.

If you love this stamp set you will want to be sure you purchase it this month as it is only available the month of June and if you spend $50 on qualifying product it could be yours for $5!!
