Thin Cuts Blog Hop

Welcome to the Thin Cuts Blog Hop!!

You will be hopping with the same talented consultants who bring you the Stamp of the Month blog hop.  For this hop we are featuring artwork which showcases our THIN CUTS. I am sure you will find a wide variety of inspirations on this hop.

If you are just arriving here from KRISTA HERSHBERGER’S Blog, or just starting at my blog then you are on the right track ~ Welcome!  The blog hop is a great big circle, so you can start here and work your way around. If you get lost along the way, you can find the complete list of participating  consultants on Melinda’s blog HERE.   For this hop we have about 19 consultants participating and you are going to see some fabulous artwork.

I designed this first day of school layout using the So Much Happy paper pack. I also used Candy Apple, Lemon, Lagoon, Kraft, White, Clover, Linen, Sapphire, Black, and Charcoal. I used a couple Cricut cuts and my thin cuts.

I used the adorable Paper Pals Base and Paper Pals Boywith the coordinating thin cuts. Since the thin cut base is for kids and adults I cut the legs a bit so that the kid would be a bit shorter.  I also used a couple of the tags from the Fancy Tag Thin Cuts.

My son who is now 7 will sometimes like to craft with me. He was hanging out with me in my craft room while I was working on the layout.  He asked if he could play with this stamp set too.  I had to share his creation as I think is turned out super cute!! He even added a few of the Paper Pal Pets.

Your next stop is along this hop is MELISSA ROBINSON’S Blog, so hop on over and see what wonderful creation she has for you today.

My Layout Challenge #1

With the New Year I am sure everyone is making resolutions which we hope to keep.  I am no different… I made one crafting resolution ~ To design at least one scrapbooking layout a week.  I have a lot of photos printed so this will be great to get through the stack.  So far I am off to a good start.

The first layout I designed was a single page layout of my son’s second encounter with Santa.

Santa Layout ~ White Pines ~ one photo layout ~ catscrapbooking.comFor this layout I used White Pines paper pack and the White Pines complements which just retired 🙁 Here is a close up of the top right corner.

Santa detail ~ White Pines ~ CatScrapbooking.comSince one of the stickers is colonial white and my base page is colonial white I decided to take a brown pen to outline the ornaments and make the string they are hanging from.  I added some bling with the retired Green Glitter paper, the Sparkle Clear Assortment Z1752 and Red Enamel Gems Z3090.

I look forward to sharing more layouts with you each week.

February Stamp of the Month

I really like this months Stamp of the Month.  It is a very versatile stamp set. Take a look for yourself:

I designed a card using this stamp set which I really liked and you can find HERE.  I knew the shapes could be really cool on a layout in a geometric way.  One of the wonderful things about this stamp set was there are multiple ways to layer these stamps to create great designs.  I had a crafting inspiration after seeing a wonderful card designed by Wendy Coffman.  This inspired me to create this layout.

A Happy Hello Layout ~ catscrapbooking

For this layout I was looking for particular colors so I pulled two retired paper packs ~ Pemberly and Flirty for my pattern paper;   asI was focusing on the orange and blues.

Here is a list of supplies I used to complete this project:

  • Paper Pack ~ Pemberly (retired) and Flirty (retired)
  • Cardstock ~ Colonial White, Goldfish and Outdoor Denim
  • Inks ~ Goldrush, Indian Corn Blue, Outdoor Denim and Topiary
  • Embellishments ~ Green and Blue Epoxy Bubbles

I hope you find this layout as an inspiration for you pages.

Happy Crafting!
