Heart 2 Heart ~ Geometric

Welcome to another weekly challenge with Heart 2 Heart!

For this challenge it is Geometric.  I looked up the definition of geometric and it is using straight or curved lines in designs or outlines. Another is of or relating to art based on simple geometric shapes (such as straight lines, circles, or squares). I decided to create a circular card for this challenge.

Close to My Heart ~ CTMH ~ CatScrapbooking ~ Shaker Card~ One Year Older ~ Party Balloons

I went to my cricut to look for a circle card ~ which I can say I have never remember creating one ~ I found on the Art Philosophy Cartridge which has been retired.  I thought the One Year Older Stamp Set would work great for this card.  I also paired it with the Party Balloons Stamp Set. The striped paper is from True Love Paper Pack.  To make the shaker you do need a few key items such as the Shaker Window Thin Cuts, Shaker Window with Acetate, and Loose Sequins – Silver.

Now it is your time to give it a try and link it to the HEART 2 HEART Challenge. You have until June 30th to participate in this challenge. We love to see your inspirations!!

Color Dare #337 ~ Love of Color

Happy Friday!  This week we have another Fun Color Dare Challenge for you.  This week for Color Dare #337 it is our Love of Color.  This week our colors are Glacier, Sugarplum, Ballerina, Sage, Pewter, Silver.  Simply choose at least 3 of the Colors – Black & White Are Free.

I decided to use Glacier, Sugarplum, Ballerina, Sage, Silver, White and Black.  Basically all colors but Pewter.

For this card I used Sugarplum as the base.  The Ballerina strip is from Something Fierce paper pack.  I used Glacier for the sentiment and used Silver embossing powder. The stamp set is called Critters Ever After from Lawn Fawn.

The base of the shaker is sponged using a stencil I made using a Cricut cut.  I used my sponge and inked with Ballerina, Sage, Glacier and Sugarplum. I used Sugarplum, Ballerina, and Glacier ink to color the unicorn and then used my shimmer brush to add shine.  I used the Shaker Thin Cuts to cut the pieces of the shaker card including the Silver Glitter paper.  I filled the shaker with Loose Sequins – Silver and the used Sugarplum Glitter paper to cut the stars.

Now it is your turn to create! Just create a project (card, layout or other craft project) using this weeks colors.  Then link them to the Color My Heart Blog ~ Color Dare #337 or you can post them to the COLOR MY HEART FaceBook page.  For this Color Dare Challenge, you have until Thursday, April 18, 2019 at 10:00 p.m. Eastern Time to submit your project.   We love to see your inspirations.

1909426_10206555217145409_3293653040187059854_oI adore this stamp set as it is fun and cheerful.  I have so many ideas for this stamp set mostly it involves kids (big and small) birthday cards.  I feel like most of the cards I create are geared to adults and I could really use some fun ones.  I have been seeing a lot of shaker cards being created on Pinterest, I have been inspired to give one ago.  I had used shakers on some scrapbook layouts about 10 years ago so it would be fun to do one on a card.   And to me this stamp set would be perfect!!

Ice Cream Dream ~ June 2015 SOTM ~ Shaker card ~ catscrapbooking.comFor this project I used the following products ~ Adventure Fundamental papers, Lagoon and White Daisy cardstock.  The “happy birthday” if from Joyful Birthday B1419.  I used my Shin Han markers to color in the adorable puppy.  I did use some metal dies to cut my circle but it could be done using a punch, Cricut or Silhouette.  I used foam sheets from a craft store to act as the spacer between the card base and the top.  I love CTMH sequins but I used some from my stash to float in the card.

Your next stop is along this hop is GINA BRANDSTETTER’ Blog, so hop on over and see what wonderful creation she has for you today.
