CTMH Technique Blog Hop ~ Crazy for Cardstock

Welcome to our Technique Blog Hop!  This month there are 10 of us highlighting Crazy for Cardstock. This blog hop is a great big circle so you can start wherever you want and continue through to see all the fabulous artwork incorporating this technique.

If you are coming from DEBI MCBAIN BLOG, you are on the right track!

I knew I wanted to show the subtle differences with the light and darker sides of our new cardstock but I was not quite sure how to do this…. so I turned to Pinterest.  I stumbled on a image for quilting and though perfect.  Here is what I came up with.

I used the lighter side of the papers for the top triangles and darker on the bottom.  I used Willow, Canary, Thistle and Lagoon.  I also incorporated two of the basic ~ Mink and Charcoal. I used All the Thanks B1536 Stamp set for the sentiment.

Thanks for stopping by!  Please continue onto MICHELLE LONCAR’S BLOG where you will find some additional artwork highlighting this technique!  Be sure to leave a comment and let me know what you thought of my variation and happy hopping!

ABC’s Blog Hop ~ Q

Welcome to the Everything ABC’s Blog Hop!

ABC's Blog HopFor this hop we will be featuring the letter “Q”.  This may be the name of a paper, a stamp set or an embellishment.  Whatever the crafter has chosen as their “Q” element will be featured in their post.

If you have just hopped onto my blog, welcome!  If you just hopped here from LINDA NORMAN’S Blog  then you are in the right place.   The blog hop is a great big circle, so you can start here and work your way around.  If you get lost along the way, you can find the complete list of participating  consultants on Linda’s blog HERE.

The letter “Q” can be a challenge to come up with ideas ~ at least for me.  The first thing that always pops into my head is Quilling paper, but I wanted to do something different.  The next crafty thing that comes to mind is Quilting…. humm… that could work.  So I decided to get very creative in using my Cricut Design Space I used the new Artistry cartridge to weld and make a quilt pattern.  Here is how it turned out.

ABC's Q ~ Quilted card ~ Zoe ~ CatScrapbooking.comTo make the quilted pattern I used the images found on page 7 of the new Artistry Cartridge. I used these two images and sliced and welded to crate the square.  I then used the new Zoe paper to crate the pattern.  I added the stiching with a white gel pen. The Life is Beautiful comes from the Your Own Kind of Wonderful stamp set D1627.  I used White ink to stamp it and it did turn out sort of light but I like the subtle effect.  I used Whisper as my base and for the boundaries of the quilt.
