Stampers with Attitude Bling it Up Hop

Welcome to the Stampers with Attitude Blog Hop!! The Stampers with Attitude is the team lead by Kimberly Moss.  This month the Stampers with Attitude are going to be showcasing artwork which has been blinged  up (Is that a word?  In the paper crafting world it is!) You should see some awesome flashy artwork on this hop. Keep in mind that a blog hop is just a big circle so if you have just come from KIMBERLY MOSS ~ Kim’s Paper Crafts, then you are in the right spot and you will find your next blog at the bottom of this post.

For my Bling it Up I designed a card with a lot of shimmer and sparkle.

SWAA - Bling it up

Here is the inside of the card.

SWAA - Bling it up inside

For this card I trimmed a 1/2 inch off the bottom of the card which allowed for the peak-a-boo look to the inside of the card.  I also could not resits trying out our new ShinHan markers to color the balloons. I love the way they color – they are really AWESOME!!!  They will be available August 1st when the new Annual Inspirations goes live.

The supplies I used on this card are:

  • Daisy White cardstock 1385
  • Lollydoodle paper pack X7193B **
  • Pink Glitter paper Z1922
  • Pink Glitter Gems   Z1807
  • Hollyhock Zipper Lace Z1826 **
  • Joyful Birthdays B1419
  • Balloons M1037
  • Hollyhock Ink pad Z2128
  • Hollyhock cardstock 1246

** denotes retiring items so be sure you order these before they are retired on July 31st.

Now you next hop is to go to ANGELA GARCIA ~ Angela’s Creative Closet.  Now hop on and see her bling it up artwork.

Getting Ready for Convention

Words cannot begin to explain my excitement for this week.  I have been wanting to attend the CTMH convention since becoming a consultant in 2012.  The first year I joined I was not aware there was a convention until I started seeing consultants talk about it on Facebook.  Last year I wanted to go but was not really sure what we would do with our son since we don’t have any family local and my husband would need to work.  This fall I talked to my husband and we agreed I would go to this convention and we would have he parents come up to help.  So here we are …. My in-laws are here and I leave for Disneyland in two days!!!!  I have never been to Disneyland, since I grew up in the south we vacationed in Florida so I got to go to Disney World two times but that was 35 plus years ago.  I am a big kid at heart and always have been so I can’t wait.

So I learned over the past two years that convention goers make cards to swap and gifts for their roommates.  I completed my roommate gifts a while ago and I was trying to decide on my swap cards.  I choose Lollydoodle as it is so bright and happy.  I decided to do the hexagon flower design as my swap card.  I spoke with another consultant who has been to convention before to learn how many cards to make.  She suggested 150 – wow that is a lot of cards. I ended up making 120 which was still a ton.

I will remember for next time that the cards I make will not have as many little pieces that need to be scored.  Each card has six hexagons which each needed to be scored.  This photo is only enough to complete 25 flowers.  I has to score 720 hexagons – but I did it!

I used Cotton Candy as the base hexagon.  I used Whisper cardstock which I embossed with the dots folder.  Close to My Heart no longer carries brads so I picked some up a local craft store.

Here is the final card.  I used Joyful Birthday B1419 for the sentiment and used Cotton Candy ink.

I hope to make some great trades and meet some wonderful women.

ABC’s Blog Hop ~ L

ABC's Blog Hop

Welcome to the Everything ABC’s Blog Hop!

For this hop we will be featuring the letter “L”.  This may be the name of a paper, a stamp set or an embellishment.  Whatever the crafter has chosen as their “L” element will be featured in their post.

If you have just hopped onto my blog, please start at the beginning at  LINDA’S BLOG ~ SCRAPPY THERAPY

If you came from LAUREN MOORE ~ CTMH Craftings then you’re on the right track!

For this weeks letter “L” I am using the Lollydoodle paper pack.  I know I have said this several times but this paper pack surprised the heck out of me.  I guess I may becoming a pink gal after all.  I have never really been a pink fan and up until a couple years ago, I don’t recall owning anything pink.  I am a purple and blue kind of girl.  But I actually fell in love with this paper pack.

I first saw this project on Annette Green’s blog about a year ago.  I have been wanting to make these but never got around to it. Well I decided it was time to give it a try.  I hosted a MOMS Club Crafty Chicks were I taught members how to make these.  It was a big hit.  I then got a little carried away with them and designed a few extra. I designed some with another paper pack as well which my roommates at convention my be seeing ….

I also varied the insides a bit so here are the different looks:

More Lollydoodle…

I know you may think Easter is behind us but I have been wanting to finish one more Easter layout.  I finally had the chance this past week, so I could finish 2012’s Easter festivities.   Since I designed the Easter Day layout with Lollydoodle I figured it would only be fitting that the MOMS Club Easter Egg Hunt should be done in the same paper.

Egg Hunt

I have to say that this is one of my favorite paper packs from this Idea Book.  Make sure you get yours if you have not  already as they may run out before this Idea Book ends in July 31st.

Mother’s Day card

Two days ago I posted a Mother’s Day flower, well here is the card I created to go with it.

Mother's day_card framed

For this card I used the stitch guide to created the circles.  Then using the juniper washi and the cotton candy polka dot (both retired) complement the colors in the Lollydoodle paper pack.  I did not have a brad that would match to secure the center of the pinwheel so I used a little liquid glass and a dot of Pear re-inker.  This is a great trick when you need to create a complementing element and you don’t have the right one, you can just make one.  The Mother’s Day was stamped using a retired stamp set Say it Style D1283.   The cardstock used is Cotton Candy, Pear, Juniper and Daisy White.

Easter Pop-up Card

I am really loving the Lollydoodle paper pack.  It is so bright and colorful and perfect for spring.  Since I have been in a Easter crafting roll how about an adorable pop-up card?  What about two???

Lollydoodle

Now for the cards..

I am just so happy with the way these turned out, and they are so much fun to make.  I may even have to try a third using the third B&T paper in this pack so I have a complete trio.  Stay tuned as I may just have to do that 🙂
