It was hard to pick which of the stamps in this set I wanted to used.  I have designed a couple cards with the Happy Everything sentiment so I knew I wanted to do something different. Then what jumped into my mind was the bee and to use the Boken technique (which by now you know I am sort of hooked on 🙂 ).

I used Honey, Whisper and Black ink on Colonial White to create the base.  I then used Colonial White ink to create the circles.  I then came back over the base with Black pigment ink and stamped the bee, the bee trail and sentiment.

I love the vibrant colors of this paper pack!  I decided to create some flowers cards.  It was fun creating these and mixing up the sayings and color combinations.Taste of Summer Card 1 ~ Flower ~ Happy Everything ~ Catscrapbooking.comThe flower was created by using a die that I had but could be done just as easily with your Cricut or Silhouette. The bottom color of the flower is cut at 2″ and the rosette is actually two 1 1/2″ circles that are scored, accordion folded, and then attached together.  The flower stem is from Art Philosophy and cut at 2.4″ high.  The grass border is from Artbooking and is cut at 4″ wide.  Here are some other varieties:

Taste of Summer Card 2 ~ Flower ~ Wavy Blooms ~ catscrapbooking.comI changed up sentiments, colors and embellishments to add a bit of variety.

If you have just hopped onto my blog, welcome!  If you just hopped here from MARIE GOETZ’S Blog  then you are in the right place.   The blog hop is a great big circle, so you can start here and work your way around.  If you get lost along the way, you can find the complete list of participating  consultants on Linda’s blog HERE.

I recently stumbled on a card technique which intrigued me and decided to give it a try, it was the HERRINGBONE technique. Since I still love the HOPSCOTCH paper pack, I thought it would be perfect for this project.  I also used the new Operations Smile Stamp set, HAPPY EVERYTHING.

Happy Every Thing ~ Hopscotch ~ Herringbone ~ catscrapbooking.comI checked out a YouTube video to learn the technique.  The one I watched used 1/4″ paper strips.  I wanted to use the chevron pattern paper so I made my strips 7/16″.  It was so easy and I love the way it turned out.
