Lovely Layers Blog Hop

Welcome to our Technique Blog Hop!  This month there are 10 of us highlighting our stamp sets that create wonderful depth with layers.  This blog hop is a great big circle so you can start wherever you want and continue through to see all the fabulous artwork.

If you are coming from DEBI MCBAIN’S BLOG, you are on the right track!

I love the new Let’s Go Fishing Stamp Set, so I decided to make it the focus of my card.

I am loving the earthy tones of the Fresh Air paper and love the wood grain paper.  I knew they would pair perfectly with this stamp set.  I used the the three layer stamp of the fish from the Let’s Go Fishing Stamp Set.  I stamped the base layer in Pebble and then rolled (also called rock-n-roll technique) it in Flaxen. The second layer is stamped in Fern and the third is New England Ivy.  I then curved the fishing line and colored it with the Golden Yellow ShinHan Marker.  I also colored the Clear Sparkles with Turquoise Blue ShinHan Marker.

I added a little sparkle to the fishing line with my Shimmer Brush.

Thanks for stopping by!  Please continue onto REBECCA COOMBS BLOG where you will find some additional artwork highlighting the awesome patterns Close to My Heart Offers!  Be sure to leave a comment and let me know what you thought and happy hopping!

Mountain Biker Birthday Card

Today is my husbands birthday!  I love creating unique cards for him and this year is no exception.  He has always loved to ride his mountain bike but when we lived in Louisiana you don’t have a lot of mountains LOL.  When we moved to Washington State he did not really ride which was a bummer.  So when we moved to Colorado three years ago he got back into it in a big way.  So what would be a good card for him? A mountain bike card!!

The mountain bike is from the You Are Here Cricut Cartridge and the mountains are from Dinosaur Tracks. I use New England Ivy, Kraft, White Daisy,  Glacier, Black, and Silver Foil which are all Close to My Heart.  The blue green is from my stash.

A Feathery Thank You

I needed to create some thank you cards for a couple guys so I found some time to create.  I decided to go with a neutral pallet and pulled a few of my retired items. I was inspired by a card I saw on Pinterest.

I used the Rustic Home Fundamental for the paper on the right and the word paper if from retired Florence. The bronze glitter paper is retired as are the gems.  I found this ribbon in my stash.  The feathers are from Artisty.

Guy Birthday Card

My husband’s birthday was last week and my son helped me pick out the design.  My son wanted to do a monster truck card as the theme.  Here is what I designed.

For this card I used Sugar Rush Paper pack and the Enchantment Fundamental Papers.  I used a retired stamp set Maximum Power D1564.  I used CTMH Archival Black ink and then used my watercolors to add color
