Color Dare #344 ~ Inspiration Photo – Memorial Day

Happy Friday!! Can you believe it is Memorial Day Weekend?  This week for Color Dare #344 we have a great Inspiration Photo – Memorial Day. Pick colors that you see in the photo and BLACK, WHITE and BROWNS are free!

I decided to go with a Graduation card using the Red as my focus color and added Black and White.  My niece is graduation next week from High School and her school colors are Red and White.

Close to my heart ~ CTMH ~ CatScrapbooking ~ Graduation ~ graduation tassel ~ color dare ~ Thin cuts

I used some retired red and white polka-dot from Magical paper pack.  I added some White Glitter paper and the Black and White print if from the Seasonal Mix-in. The Sentiment is from a retired stamp set called Graduation Tassel.  I decided to make the tassel instead of using the one in the stamp set.  I used the fringe Thin Cut from the Decorative Boarder Thin Cuts to cut it.  Then I rolled it around a bit of twine.

Now it is your turn to create! Just create a project (card, layout or other craft project) using this weeks colors.  Then link them to the Color My Heart Blog ~ Color Dare #344 or you can post them to the COLOR MY HEART FaceBook page.  For this Color Dare Challenge, you have until Thursday, June 6, 2019 at 10:00 p.m. Eastern Time to submit your project.   We love to see your inspirations.

Graduation Card

I have a graduate who comes to my card classes so I could not use my fun card I created for last months card class. Which you can find HERE.  So I decided to make one just for her with her school colors.

Gradutation Card ~ Cap and Gown ~ CatScrapbooking.comTo make this card I used the new white twine which I colored with my Shin Han markers.

Everything ABC’s ~ Letter H

Welcome to the Everything ABC’s Blog Hop!!!

ABC's Blog BadgeThis week we will be featuring the letter “H”.  This may be the name of a paper, a stamp set or an embellishment.  Whatever the crafter has chosen as their “H” element will be featured in their post.

If you have just hopped onto my blog, welcome!  If you just hopped here from LINDA NORMAN’S Blog then you are in the right place.   The blog hop is a great big circle, so you can start here and work your way around.  If you get lost along the way, you can find the complete list of participating consultants at the bottom of this post.

For my “H” project I decided to make a graduation HAT card (okay it is really a cap but it is still a form of a hat 😉 ).  I saw a tutorial on how to make one on a Stampin Up score board so I decided to design one using our Close to My Heart Scoreboard.  Start with a 4 1/4″ by 9 3/4″ piece of Black Cardstock.

Step 1 ~  Step 1 ~ Graduation Hat Card ~ CatScrapbooking.comBy making this score mark the area to the right is now what I will be referring to as the “short” side.
