HoHoHo Glass Block

I am definitely getting into the holiday spirit a little early.  I decided to design a fun holiday glass block.  HoHoHo Glass Block ~ Holiday Glass Block ~Artiste ~ CatScrapbooking.comThe HoHoHo is from the Artiste cartridge.  I did a bit of slicing in order to make the middle “Ho” its own cut.  This way I could make it two tone.  The snowflakes are from Artistry.  I added the fake snow and a mini strand of lights.  I am really pleased the way this turned out.

ABC’s Blog Hop ~ G

Welcome to the Everything ABC’s Blog Hop!

ABC's Blog HopFor this hop we will be featuring the letter “G”.  This may be the name of a paper, a stamp set or an embellishment.  Whatever the crafter has chosen as their “G” element will be featured in their post.

If you have just hopped onto my blog, welcome!  If you just hopped here from LINDA NORMAN’S Blog then you are in the right place.   The blog hop is a great big circle, so you can start here and work your way around.  If you get lost along the way, you can find the complete list of participating  consultants on Linda’s blog HERE.

For my “G” element I chose Glass Block and Easter Grass.

Glass Block ~ Easter ~ ABC's G

I am really liking my Cricut Explore and it is my go to for cutting vinyl!!  In fact I have actually (gasp) been using it more than my Silhouette!! I love the fact I can use my CTMH cartridges more as I can really design like I am use to with my Silhouette. For this project I used my the Art Philosophy cartridge for the egg which is on page 57 and the bunny with the bow are from Artfully Sent (see it is not just for cards) on page 41.  The grass and Happy Easter are from searching my Cricut Subscription.

Your next stop along the way is WENDY KESSLER’S Blog hop on over and see what wonderful creation she has for you today.

Valenties Glass Block

I received a tip from some fellow crafters that some of the holiday glass blocks at Lowe’s were on sale for $1 the beginning of January.  Thankfully some of them posted their receipts so I was able to show this and get my Lowe’s to price match.  (I will admit it was not the easiest task because it really depends on who you talk to.  I talked to 5 different Lowe’s employees and only two said it was possible.) Any way I was able to score 10 of these!!!

Since then I have been looking on Pinterest to see what my first glass block project was going to be.  I decided on Valentines, since Feb 14th is just around the corner.

Valentine's BlockI have been having a lot of fun with vinyl and my new Cricut Explore!! For this project used the Artfully Sent Cricut cartridge.  I used the pocket card image on pg 30 Love Life.  I modified it in the design studio enlarging and rotating the heart.  I also added the “be mine”.  I really love the way this turned out.  I filled it with two of the larger bags of sweethearts.
