Color Dare #285 ~ Bashful, Pebble, and Raspberry

Welcome to this weeks Color My Heart Color Challenge!  This week for Color Dare #285 we are challenging you to use (All and Only) these CTMH Colors: BASHFUL, PEBBLE,  and RASPBERRY.  You are able to use neutrals – Black and White in your design. You can check out the rules HERE.

I had a few of these flowers and butterflies already sitting on my desk from my Spring Banner I created which you can see HERE. I decided to use them to represent the Bashful.  Then I looked for Raspberry and found the Raspberry fundamental paper.

For this card I wanted to soften the Raspberry so I used a velum as an overlay.  I added Bashful glitter paper behind the sentiment.  I used both sides of the pebble to the darker for the base and the lighter for the sentiment.  I also used second generation Raspberry ink for the sentiment.

Now it is your turn to create! Just create a project (card, layout or other craft project) using this weeks colors.  Then link them to the Color My Heart Blog ~ Color Dare #285 or you can post them to the COLOR MY HEART FaceBook page.  For this Color Dare Challenge, you have until Thursday. April 5, 2018 at 10:00 p.m. Eastern Time to submit your project.   We love to see your inspirations.

Purposeful Patterns Blog Hop

Welcome to our Technique Blog Hop!  This month there are 14 of us highlighting our wonderful patterns from our awesome MAKE IT FROM THE HEART Books. This blog hop is a great big circle so you can start wherever you want and continue through to see all the fabulous artwork.

If you are coming from TAMMY LUBICK’S BLOG, you are on the right track!

I chose to use Pattern 12 from the Make It From the Heart Vol 4. I decided to incorporate a technique I saw just a few days ago by Michelle Loncar and then checked out the link to learn about off the edge die cuts.  I did my own twist using Punny Pals Thin Cuts.

For my card I used the Punny Pals stamp set and the thin cuts which are available again for a limited time!!! I used Saffron as the base and then Peacock from the Enchantment Fundamental Paper Pack.  I also use Charcoal cardstock and one of the patterns form the Basic Fundamental Paper Pack.  I also used the Peacock Ribbon and Grey Gems.

Here are the steps I took to make the animal strip.

Step 1 ~ I aligned the thin cuts along the 1 1/2 ” by 5 1/2″ strip.

Step 2 ~ I made my sandwich with the “B” plate on bottom then I aligned the thin metal plate and my top “B” plate.  I made sure the top plates were where I wanted the cut image to stop.

Step 3 ~ Here is what it looked like after running through my Cuttlebug

Step 4 ~ I used my trimmer and scissors to cut between the cut animal

Here is what they looked like when I stamped them.

Thanks for stopping by!  Please continue onto SARAH DEVENDORF’S BLOG where you will find some additional artwork highlighting the awesome patterns Close to My Heart Offers!  Be sure to leave a comment and let me know what you thought and happy hopping!

Color Dare #239 ~ Slate, Canary, White Daisy and Eggplant

Welcome to this weeks Color My Heart Color Challenge!  This week for Color Dare #239 we are challenging you to combine SLATE, CANARY, WHITE DAISY and EGGPLANT.

I originally though I would do something with flowers as that is what sort of came to mind.  Then I saw a stamp set that has been sitting on my desk taunting me to create with it….So I decide to play with Kyle.  Technique Tuesday came out with an Animal House Series this year and I could not resist as they started out with a fox stamp set so I was hooked.  Kyle was there February release.

For this card I used the fundamentals.  I stamped Kyle in Slate ink then using a blender pen lifted a bit of color from the Slate stamp pad to color him and his hat.

Now it is your turn to create! Just create a project (card, layout or other craft project) using this weeks colors.  Then link them to the Color My Heart Blog ~ Color Dare #239 or you can post them to the COLOR MY HEART FaceBook page.  For this Color Dare Challenge, you have until Thursday April 20, 2017 at 10:00 p.m. Eastern Time to submit your project.   We love to see your inspirations.

Layout #28 ~ CTMH Convention 2014 Fun Run

Wow is time flying!!! I have been so busy since coming home from the 2016 Close to My Heart Convention.  My head is spinning with Ideas as I have been drooling over the new Annual Inspiration.  I managed to sneak some time in over the last two days to get a layout done so I can stay on target of a layout a week.

I decided it would be fitting to scrapbook a layout from the 2014 Close to My Heart Convention.  This was the first year that I attended convention and it was in Disneyland.  On one of the mornings CTMH organized a Fun Run which would benefit Operation Smile.  It was a 5K and went through California Adventure before the parks opened.  I have to confess I am not a pink person but for some reason I decided to purchase a pink t-shirt to wear and made a tutu.  If you know me these are totally outside of my comfort zone.  Now to top this off I used a lot of pinks on my layout 🙂

Fundamentals ~ Kaleidoscope ~ CTMH Convention 2014 ~ CatScrapbooking.comFor this layout I used:

  • Kaleidoscope Paper Pack
  • Pixie and Smoothie Fundamentals
  • White Daisy Cardstock
  • Pink Glitter paper
  • White Twine
  • Pixie Twine
  • Handwritten Alphabet E1030

I am still going strong on my personal layout challenge.  In case you missed my layout #13 you can find it on last Sunday’s post with my Stampers with an Attitude blog hop you can find it HERE.  This week I tackled one of the layout that I have been putting off.  Every year I scrapbook our Christmas card, it is generally not my most exciting layout but I want to include it in my albums.  This one is from 2010 and is one of four layouts I have left to do from that year. Layout Challenge #14 ~ Christmas Card layout ~ CatScrapbooking.comFor this project I used the following products:
