Layout 26 ~ Layout Contest 2016

I am now home from a fun filled week at the Close to My Heart Convention which was held in Disney World and trying to settle back into my normal routine.  So thankfully I had designed a layout before I left for convention, because life has been busy since coming back home.  Particularly with this weekend being the start of the July Fourth Celebrations.  Every year there is a layout contest for attending consultants.  I entered but unfortunately I was not one of the lucky ones.  I am still super pleased the way this layout did turn out.

Wine Tags Part 1

This time of year we start to think about saying thanks and giving gifts.  Yes, I know it is hard to believe Christmas will be here next month.  Well often we say thank you by bringing a bottle of wine.  So what would be better than a great wine tag.  No need for gift wrap or a fancy bag, just put one of these on and your recipient will comment on how unique it is.  Here are two tags which I designed which would be great for Thanksgiving or really any time.

Good Cheer Sangria Wine Tag ~ CatScrapbooking.com

This tag was designed using the Sangria paper pack, Thankful Heart B1463, and Harvest Wreath D1662.  I stamped the pumpkin and leaves (using a mask) with Momento ink then watercolored them.Sangria Wine Tag ~ catscrapbooking.comThis wine tag was also used with the Sangria paper and colors.  I used the White Pines Card WOTG stamp set to make the wreath using Cashmere, Pomegranate, Poppy and Fern.  I then use the “thanks” from A Thousand Thanks C1625 with Eggplant ink.

If you liked these but were thinking of making one for the Christmas Holidays then stay tuned as Wednesday I will be showing two more. You can also check out these links to ones I designed last year.

Technique Blog Hop ~Diffuse Your Artwork

Welcome to the Technique Blog Hop!12074971_10153184519667934_2043297595245056291_n

This month we are featuring the technique of ~ DIFFUSERS!  Close to My Heart has just released two diffusers which are to be used with our embossing folders.  You can find these new diffusers on  page 122 of the new Annual Inspirations Idea book.  Diffusers are so cool as it will crate a non-embossed area on the paper you want to emboss. I know that sounds confusing but just take a look at the artwork and it will make more sense.  This month we have 6 consultants featuring artwork using this technique.  If you just hopped onto my blog or arrived from PRICILLA GOTHAM ’S Blog then you are in the right place.  This blog hop is a great big circle so you can start wherever you want and continue through to see all the fabulous artwork incorporating this technique.

Stampers with an Attitude Blog Hop ~ Sangria

Welcome to the Stampers with an Attitude Blog Hop!!  The Stampers with an Attitude is the team lead by Kimberly Moss.  This month the Stampers with an Attitude are going to be showcasing art work with the wonderful fall colored Sangria paper pack. You will just fall in love with the rich colors of this paper pack!!!

I have been wanting to make one of those fabulous wreaths made out of rolled flowers.  When I saw the colors in the Sangria paper pack X7199B.  I knew it was the right one.  So I rolled like 90 flowers to create this wreath.Sangria ~ flower wreath ~ catscrapbooking.comThe wreath is 13″ foam which I wrapped in burlap so if any spots showed through it would be burlap and not white. I decided since these were fall colors I would add a few leaves.

Sangria ~ Flower Wreath detail 2 ~ catscrapbooking.com

Sangria ~ Flower Wreath detail 3 ~ catscrapbooking.comI actually used three different flowers in three different sizes.  For those of you with a Cricut Explore I used #m44903, #m47643 and #m435f5 all of which are from the Art Philosophy cartridge.  I sized them at 4″, 4.4″ and 4.8″.  For the leaves I used #m473AB from Artbooking (2.8″ high and 2.4″ high), #m58a300 (3.2″ high and 2.4″ high) & #m411c98 (2.19″ high and 2.59″ high) are from Artistry and #m42812 (2.76″ high & 2.2″ high) from Artiste.   I used pearl straight pins to secure the flowers to and leaves to the wreath.

Here is the list of papers used:

  • Sangria paper pack X7199B
  • Cardstock ~ Eggplant, Poppy, Pomegranate, Colonial White, Fern, Desert Sands, Cocoa, and Champange
