Color Dare #171 ~ Cranberry, Pear, Gold and White Daisy

Welcome to this weeks Color My Heart Color Challenge!  This week for Color Dare #171 we are featuring CRANBERRY, PEAR, GOLD & WHITE.

12182759_1666640680289390_217688051216951767_oI knew when I saw these colors I would be doing a Christmas card.  I have been seeing a lot of fabulous cards using the awesome White Pines Scrapbook Workshop on the Go stamp set.  I decided it was time to give it a try.

Color Dare 171 ~ White Pines WOTG Stamp ~ Christmas Card ~ CatScrapbooking.comI used Cranberry, Pear and White Daisy cardstock.  I used the Versamark pad to stamp then used gold embossing powder.  I added a bit of Gold Glitter paper.  I used the Artistry cartridge to cut the shape for the Christmas stamp and the holly leaves.  Both cuts are found on page 48.  I backed the holly leaves using the Green Shimmer trim.  I decided to just use the Red Gems for the holly instead of the cricut cut.  I also used the Confetti Embossing folder for the White Daisy cardstock.

Color Dare #111

I was so happy to be crafting again since the move, that I could not resist participating in this weeks Color Dare # 111 which features Cranberry, Sorbet, Olive, Lagoon and Pacifica.

Color Dare #111 colors

I was feeling very inspired by Pinterest these days as while my craft room was in transit from Washington to Colorado, I had to at least dream about doing something creative.  I have to admit I love my Lawn Fawn stamp sets – Into the Woods and Critters in the Forest.  I am a sucker for cute foxes so that was the major draw.   I don’t always get to use these stamp sets as I am usually working with my  Close to My Heart stamp sets.  But I saw a card on Pinterest and knew I needed to lift it.  It was originally designed by Melinia Deasy but I changed some of the animals and colors.

Color Dare #111 ~

I used my Silhouette to design the card frame, then just popped it up with CTMHs new thin foam tape. I used the dies that coordinate with The Lawn Fawn -In the Woods set to cut the fox, skunk and deer.  I had to hand cut the porcupine.  I used my Shin Han markers to color the critters – I am really loving these markers.

Here is the full list of supplies used:

  • Cardstock ~ Slate, Cranberry, Lagoon, Olive, Pacifica & Sorbet
  • Stamp Sets ~ LF – In the Woods & Critters in the Forest, CTMH – Babycakes WOTG (for party hats) & Belated Birthday B1442
  • Embellishments ~ Black and Grey Sparkle assortments Z1754
  • Shin Han Markers~ Tender Pink Z2464, Marigold Z2457, Pastel Peach Z2460, Warm Grey Z2468, Barely Biege Z2445, Clay Z2451, and Mahogany  Z2456
  • Ink ~ Pacifica, Cranberry, Sorbet, Lagoon and Black

Now why don’t you give this weeks Color Dare a try!

Color Dare #110 Colors

These colors are very fall like to me and I am so happy to have the cooler temperatures.  As I have mentioned before Fall is one of my favorite times of the year.  I have to admit I am a bit surprised to hear as I write this blog for tomorrow, that we may be waking to our first snow flurries …. Really???? Wow – I do like snow but I guess I am a bit shocked it will be arriving so early it is only mid September.  Anyway here is my fall inspired thanks card.

Color Dare #110 ~

Guest Designer for Color My Heart

I cannot begin to explain how excited I am to be a Guest Designer for Color Dare!!! I had seen this blog a while a go and had been wanting to start participating.  Several weeks ago I started and it was so much fun I needed to do it again and again….  I highly recommend giving Color My Heart’s Color Dare a try, their color combinations usually inspire me to to create something fun.

This week the color challenge  #98 is Buttercup and Indian Corn Blue.  Here is the card I created.

Color Dare #98 ~

It was fun to make this flower using fabric.  I cut a 1″ by  ” strip of fabric.  I pulled some of the strands to make the frayed look.  I then took a needle and used a running stitch on the opposite side of the fray.  I then pulled the thread so the fabric gathered and then sewed it to the other side, resulting in a rosette style flower.

For this card I used the following products:

  • Paper Pack ~Jubilee
  • Cardstock ~ Indian Corn Blue, Buttercup and Colonial White
  • Embellishments ~ Chantilly Fabrics, Opaque flourish, Blue Buttons, yellow bakers twine
  • Stamp Set ~ Artiste Collection Word Balloons

Happy Crafting!

Color Dare #97

For this weeks Color My Heart’s Color Dare the colors are Outdoor Denim, Honey, Olive and New England Ivy.

color dare #97

These are very masculine colors to me and though it would work well with the My Hero ~ Hostess Exclusive stamp set.  My father-in-law is a retired Airforce pilot so I could make a great card for him.

Color Dare #97 ~

To achieve the multi-color stamped look I used the pigment inks in New England Ivy, Outdoor Denim and Honey.  I used a dauber to apply the ink to the areas of the stamp so It would look this way.

Products used for this card:

  • Cardstock ~ Colonial White, New England Ivy
  • Paper Pack ~ Victory
  • Inks ~ New England Ivy, Outdoor Denim, Honey and Olive
  • Embelishments ~ Bakers Twine, Square Durables
  • Stamp Set ~ My Hero B1448
  • Embossing Folder ~ Cheveron

Color dare #90

Last week I entered Color My Heart Color Dare Challenge for the first time.  It was so much fun I knew I wanted to give it another try so here goes.  This week the color challenge is to use Outdoor Denim, Indian Corn Blue, Pacifica and Honey.

Color Dare #90

So here is what I was inspired to create…

Color Dare #90 arrows

For this card I used pattern 28 from the Make it from Your Heart Volume 2.   I used the Jute ribbon for the first time.  I love the look but have wondered how to deal with the ends as they seem to fray.  I decided to apply liquid glass in a line on what would be the backside.  Just before it dried completely I cut the ribbon so there was liquid glass on either side of the cut lines.   This resulted in a clean cut and no fraying!  I also used my pigment inks in the Outdoor Denim, Indian Corn Blue, Pacifica, and Honey to change things up a little and because they are a little easier to use when adding multiple colors to a stamp.

Close to My Heart products used:

  • Cardstock ~ Kraft, Colonial White, Honey, Indian Corn Blue, and Outdoor Denim
  • Inks ~ Adventure Pigment inks and Enchantment Pigment inks
  • Stamp Sets ~ Holiday Tags, Flight of Arrows
  • Embellishments ~ Green and Blue Epoxy Bubbles, Jute Ribbon
