In Love with Velum Blog Hop

Welcome to our Technique Blog Hop!  This month there are 10 of us highlighting our wonderful VELLUM Paper. This blog hop is a great big circle so you can start wherever you want and continue through to see all the fabulous artwork incorporating this technique.

If you are coming from REBECCA COOMBS’ BLOG, you are on the right track!

I decided I wanted to play around with the vellum a bit.  I broke out my watercolor pencils and colored on a piece of vellum with some blues and greens.

I then took one of my water brushes and then blended the colors.

Then I used my black Momento ink to stamp the butterflies.  I will make the recommendation to try to flatten the vellum before trying to stamp so that you get a cleaner stamped image.  Here is how my card turned out.

I decided to water color the white behind the butterflies a bit.  I love the Chelsea Gardens paper pack. So I will use every opportunity to use it and those wonderful Chelsea Garden Gems & Dots.

Thanks for stopping by!  Please continue onto DANIELLE WAGNER’S BLOG where you will find some additional artwork highlighting this technique!  Be sure to leave a comment and let me know what you thought of my variation and happy hopping!

Happy Crafting!

Here are some of the supplies I used to create my card.

Here is a close up of the card:

I am so in love with the Chelsea Gardens paper pack! The colors are fabulous and for me who is not a floral person I love this pattern with the butterflies. I used the Rose Embossing Folder and Glacier ink to create the ink embossed pattern.  I also used pattern 3 from the new Make It From the Heart Volume 4  (page 10).  I used the Chelsea Gardens Dots & Gems, Whimsy Ribbon, Glacier and Mink Cardstock.

If you love this stamp set you will want to be sure you purchase it this month as it is only available the month of February and if you spend $50 on qualifying product it could be yours for $5!!
