ABC’s Blog Hop ~ D

Welcome to the Everything ABC’s Blog hop! ABC's Blog HopFor this hop we will be featuring the letter “D”.  This may be the name of a paper, a stamp set or an embellishment.  Whatever the crafter has chosen as their “D” element will be featured in their post.

If you have just hopped onto my blog, please start at the beginning at LINDA’S BLOG ~ SCRAPPY THERAPY .  If you just came from DIANA SANDERS Blog then you are in the right place.

Today for my “D” element I have choose DAFFODILS.  I love the new stamp set A Little Note A1171.  You can see it featured on page 23 of the Seasonal Expressions One.  I so love the card displayed on that page.  I have been meaning to design my own cards for some time so this was the perfect excuses.  I actually designed three cards using this stamp set.

A Little Note ~ ABC's D ~ catscrapbooking.com

This one was simple just using Topiary and Canary cardstock to double frame the Daffodils and then putting on Kraft cardstock.  I used the Yellow diamond washi tape on White Daisy cardstock then split it down the center.

Blushed ~ A Little Note ~ ABC's D ~ catscrapbooking.comFor this card I though the Brushed paper pack would coordinate wonderfully with this stamp set.  I used the topiary washi as accent.

Hopscotch ~ A Little Note ~ ABC's D ~catscrapbooking.comThis is my favorite!   I know I have said this so many times but I absolutely love the Hopscotch paper pack and knew it would be great for this card.   I used Glacier to back the stamped White Daisy cardstock with Flaxen Extra Thick Twine to accent the design.

Supplies used for all cards:

  • Paper Packs ~ Hopscotch X7194B, Brushed X7190B
  • Cardstock ~ Glaicer, Canary, Topary, White Daisy and Kraft
  • ShinHan Markers ~ Pastel Green Z2459, Sap Green Z2463, Golden Yellow Z2452, and Maragold Z2457
  • Embellishments ~ Flaxen Extra Thick Twine Z3036. Junebug Puffies Z3038, Honey Triangles Washi Z1931 and Topiary Stripe Washi Z2002

Color Dare #129 ~ Heartstrings

Welcome to another week with Color My Heart Color Challenge!!  This week for Color Dare we are featuring the colors of Heartstrings paper pack which are ~ Cranberry, Crystal Blue, Hollyhock, lagoon, Whisper and White Daisy.

Color Dare #129 BadgeI have to admit that I have not been a big Valentine person and never really celebrated it too much as an adult.  However between this paper pack and having a child I have been having fun with Valentines creations. I know this paper pack can be used for more than just Valentines but since we are one day away from Valentines Day, I figured I would design a card which would work for Valentines or anytime you just wanted to say “Love You”.

Color Dare #129~ Heartstrings ~ Catscrapbooking.com

For this card I used the Heartstrings paper pack with Lagoon, Whisper and White Daisy cardstock.  I used the Hostess Exclusive stamp set Happy Hexagons C1596 with Lagoon and Hollyhock ink.  I used the hearts embossing folder and using a sanding block I exposed the white core of the cardstock.  I also added a few Stuck on you Puffies and some white shimmer trim.

Color Dare #120

Welcome to this weeks Color My Heart Color Challenge #120.  For this week we are featuring Barn Red, Goldrush, Glacier, Olive, and Lagoon.  Which just so happens to be the colors of the Pathfinding paper pack!!

Color Dare #120

I really love the leaves of the Fall Harvest stamp set.  I wanted to try a new way to color them using a technique I had seen using stamp pads, the all purpose mat and a spray pen.  Here is how it works.  the first step is to rub your ink pad onto the shinny side of your CTMH All Purpose mat.  If you do not have an all purpose mat you may be able to do this with a ziplock style bag.  I used one of my spay pens with a little water to spay the inked area.

ink technique ~ catscrapbooking.com

I cut the leaves using my silhouette ~ I created my own cut file.  Then placing the paper or in this case the leaves face down into the ink I was able to create a marbled look.

Ink technique 2 ~ catscrapbooking.com

I then just wiped the mat with a baby wipe and the ink is all cleaned up.  I then flipped the mat over and using my craft heater I dried the leaves so I could stamp them in Chocolate.  I really like the way they turned out.

Color Dare 120 ~ Catscrapbooking.comYou are getting a sneak peek at one of the new hostess stamp sets from the Seasonal Expression which goes live next month!!! It is the Thank you stamp.

Supplies used for this card:

  • Paper pack ~ Pathfinding
  • Cardstock ~ Chocolate and Colonial White

Artfully Sent Blog Hop

Welcome to the Artfully Sent Blob Hop!!
Artfully+Sent+500
Today you will be hopping with the same talented consultants who bring you the Stamp of the Month blog hop.  Today we are featuring the new Close to My Heart Cricut Cartridge ~ Artfully Sent.  This is an awesome cartridge which will help you create fabulous cards which can pop-up, pocket or create scenes just to name a few.  But wait that is not all…. If you love Picture My Life you can now create your own inserts.
If you are coming here from DONNA DIGBY‘ Blog then you are on the right track ~ Welcome!  The blog hop is a great big circle, so you can start here and work your way around.  If you get lost along the way, you can find the complete list of participating  consultants on Melinda’s blog HERE.   For this hop we have over 40 consultants participating so you are going to see some fabulous artwork.
My father’s 75th birthday is today so I wanted to design a fun card for the occasion.  I chose one of the Pop-Up cards on page 40 the “You’re a classic”.  I prefer cards to be the A2 size(4 1/2″ x 5 1/2″) and most of the cards with the cartridge are recommended to be at the 5″ x 7″ size.  So to resize the card to the A2 I designed the layers in CCR.  I started with the base and sized it so the width was 5.5″.  I then just added the additional layers and using the lower right corner of the image once in CCR, I resized each layer so it worked with my base.Page 40 ~ catscrapbooking.com
Since I was designing a birthday card I needed a birthday sentiment.  So I found the one on page 27.  Using the same method of sizing, I was able to scale this to the appropriate size for the outside of the card.
Page 27 ~ Catscrapbooking.com
Here is the finished design.  I added a little extra to the car by using a grey pen to create fenders and accent the center of the wheels.  I chose the Yuletide Carol paper to work with as it has a classic feel and complemented it with the New England Ivy.

Life Time of Happiness…OPPS

Do you ever have one of those days when you realize in your attempts to stay on things you really are not at all?  Well I had one of those days.  I have been trying to make the most of my limited craft time these days and with my mom coming to visit.  I had some craft time last week and I grabbed what I though was the November SOTM to make cards for a swap I participate in.   I was so proud of myself as I loved the card I designed and go them all mailed off so they would meet the swap deadline.  Well the next day the package came back to me, the automated mail station did not calculate the correct postage and it needed more.  I though no big deal so I added the needed postage and off it went.  I photographed the card so I could blog about it.  I sat down to prepare my blog which would feature the November stamp of the month and realized I had not used the correct stamp!!!!  I had just reached for a stamp set which was sitting on my desk and instead of confirming it was the one I needed I just got inspired and away I went.

Oh well…. I still really love the way this card turned out.  So it really was not a big deal other than the fact I look like an idiot to the person who organizes the swap and I still needed to create a card for the November Stamp of the Month.  The stamp set I mistakenly grabbed was Lifetime of Happiness C1589.

Lifetime of Happiness ~ catscrapbooking.com

I really love this stamp set with all the flowers but my two favorite elements are the beautiful bow and the adorable acorn.  Here is the card I created.

lifetime of happiness ~ Pathfinding ~ catscrapbooking.comI decided I did not want to fussy cut all these elements so I scanned the carrier sheet and imported it into my silhouette.  This enabled me to create cut files for each of the items.

Products used:

  • Paper Pack ~Pathfinding X7186B
  • Cardstock ~ Chocolate, Champagne, Colonial White
  • Stamp Set ~ Lifetime of Happiness C1589
  • Ink ~ Autumn Terricotta, Glacier, Goldrush, Barn Red, Honey, Chocolate and Olive
  • Embellishment ~ Bronze Shimmer trim Z1849, Bling Gems Gold Assortment Z1263

Stampers with Attitude ~ Artfully Sent

Welcome to the Stampers with Attitude Blog Hop!! The Stampers with Attitude is the team lead by Kimberly Moss.  This month the Stampers with Attitude are going to be showcasing artwork with the new Artfully Sent Cricut cartridge.   If you are just hopping here from BELINDA MCLANE’s Blog then you are in the right spot.

This cartridge is so wonderful there are so many different cards you can create.  Today I decided since it was October and Halloween is right around the corner, then a Halloween card was in order.  I also saw a really cool technique called Alcohol Marker Marbling on Splitcoast Stampers that I have been wanting to try which would work with halloween.

Happy Haunting - Artfully Sent ~ catscrapbooking.com

I love these scene cards.  I used the Alcohol Marbeling technique to create the background paper.  I used Warm Gray Z2467, Marigold z2457, Peony Purple Z2462, and Golden Yellow Z2452.  You can check out the technique at Splitcoast Stampers here they have written directions and a video.

Happy Haunting - Artfully Sent inside ~ catscrapbooking.com

I actually cut two of the bases of the card so I could create a sandwich with the haunted house and add the Honey in the middle.  If you notice the background is glossy it is actually photo paper.  I plan to just use a journaling pen to write on the card.  I used one of the bats from the cut and colored it black to add to the happy hauntings.

Items used:

  • Artfully Sent Cricut Cartridge~ Pg 44
  • Cardstock~ Black, Honey, Thistle
  • Shin Han Markers ~ Warm Gray Z2467, Marigold z2457, Peony Purple Z2462, and Golden Yellow Z2452
  • Stamp Set ~  Moonlight WOTG (retired)
  • Embellishments ~ Black Stars from Scaredy Cat Assortment.
  • Misc ~ photo paper

Now hop on over to DEBBIE ANDREWS Blog and see what she has created.
