Candlelight Garden ~ December SOTM ~ Watercolor ~ CatScrapbooking.comI love the quote and though it would be fun to create a background using the quote.  I stamped the top one in first generation ink using Chocolate ink.  Then using second generation ink I continued to stamp the quote over and over until the Champagne cardstock was covered.  I used then used watercolors on Colonial white and fussy cut the jar and flowers.  I popped some of the flowers and leaves using both thin and regular foam tape.

It was hard to pick which of the stamps in this set I wanted to used.  I have designed a couple cards with the Happy Everything sentiment so I knew I wanted to do something different. Then what jumped into my mind was the bee and to use the Boken technique (which by now you know I am sort of hooked on 🙂 ).

Happy Everything ~ Operation Smile ~ Boken Technique ~ catscrapbooking.com

I used Honey, Whisper and Black ink on Colonial White to create the base.  I then used Colonial White ink to create the circles.  I then came back over the base with Black pigment ink and stamped the bee, the bee trail and sentiment.

Happy Everything card detail ~ operation smile ~ catscrapbooking.comHere is a close up so you can see the Honey Fundamental paper with the honeycomb pattern which was backed by the Black Shimmer trim Z1809 to give a little pop.  I used the black sequins from the Mini-Melody Accents Black Collection Z1862.

I was looking through CardMaker’s magazine ~ their Beautiful Blooms edition. I stumbled on a fancy fold technique called Kusudma Flower and was intrigued.  I decided I wanted to give it a go. It was fun to do and I have the steps on creating this flower below.  Here is how it turned out:

Kusudama Flower ~ Blossom ~ Taste of Summer #ctmhtos ~ catscrapbooking.com1d7f8566-fc70-4f67-971c-36c9be4e878a

I did not add a sentiment to this card as I was not sure what occasion I wanted to use it for.  Since the flowers are quite 3D it is not the easiest card to mail.  So I figured I would wait for the right occasion that it could go in a package or be hand delivered and it would only take a minute to add.  I used the blossom paper with some teal shimmer trim and Blue & Green Epoxy Bubbles.  The stamp set is the Taste of Summer special stamp set that is only available this month.

1d7f8566-fc70-4f67-971c-36c9be4e878aNow hear is how to make those fun flowers.  The larger flower I used 2″ x 2″ squares and for the smaller two flowers I used 1 1/2″ by 1 1/2″

Kusudama Flower Petal ~ fancy fold ~ catscrapbooking.comI did forget on last step and that is to trim the point  which I am holding in the photo off.  This will allow you to have a flat surface to adhere to your project.  Also hot glue was really the only thing that would hold these petal together.
