October Blog Hop

Welcome to the Roxybonds Scrappers Team Blog Hop!

This month we are featuring artwork from the Moonlight paper pack.

If you have come here from Jen Patrick, then you are on the right path.  Your next stop will be Stephanie Feist.

I am a scrapbooker and love Halloween so this months artwork was so much fun for me to create.

For this layout I used created my own stencil which I cut out with my Silhouette. I chose goldrush and smokey plum inks and used the spray pens to create the bat in the moon effect. I then used the Moonlight paper, goldrush,, smokey plum and slate card stock. I used the swirl stamp from the Moonlight scrapbook WOTG to stamp the smokey plum cardstock on the right.

I got so carried away with this Moonlight paper that I created a second halloween layout. This one I designed as a page kit that I will be selling.

For this layout I used slate, black and goldrush card stock along with the Moonlight paper.  I used the mummy stamp from the Moonlight WOTG and the vampire and skeleton stamps are from the Creapy Creatures stamp set. I used a blender pen with my inks to give them a little color.

Now hop on over to Stephanie Feist for your next stop.

Halloween Banner

I absolutely love this time of year!! I love fall and winter (yes I do like the cold and snow).  The holidays are always so fun and festive.  One of my favorite holidays it Halloween.  I aways decorate the first of October and we generally have a pumpkin carving party just before Halloween. This year I have been able to crate a couple decorations. I was very excited how my banner turned out. I used the CTMH banner. Moonlight paper pack, smokey plum, gold rush, and slate card stock.

On the Moonlight paper I added a little sparkle by applying lavender Stickles to the purple swirls. On the smokey plum, I stamped the banner with the ghost from the Creepy Creature stamp set.  I then used a blender pen and the colonial ink to make them pop. I then used orange Stickles to the pumpkin.  On the slate banners I used a bat stamp that I had.  I then stamped some on smokey plum cardstock and cut them out and used pop dots to make them stand out. I used the gunmetal Stickles to give them a little bling. And for the ends I used a web stencil I had and went over it with the gunmetal Stickles.  The spider I cut out using my Silhouette and added some crystals for the eyes.

Blog Hop September

Welcome to the Roxybonds Scrappers Team Blog Hop!

We will be featuring artwork from the Avonlea paper pack and/or the Scholastic Paper Pack.

If you have come here from Kat Ramirez , then you are on the right path. Your next stop will be Denise Heiden.

Today I have created two items. The first is a frame using our new My Creations Frame – love this product! I used the Avonlea paper to cover the front and inked the edges in Chocolate. For accents I used my silhouette to cut two flourish circles in the Avonlea Teal and also used Chocolate, Olive and Slate cardstock. I also love the dark chocolate stripped grosgrain ribbon. The stamps used in the top center is from the Avonlea Scrapbook WOTG.

I also designed a two page layout using the Avonlea papers. The layout was based on pattern 06 from “Make if from your heart” Volume 1. In addition to using the Avonlea pattern papers, Chocolate, Olive, Slate, and Whisper cardstock were used. Everything was inked in Chocolate as well as all the stamping using the Avonlea Scrapbook WOTG stamp set and Chocolate Alphabet large stamp set. The other accents used was the dark chocolate striped grosgrain ribbon and chocolate buttons.

Waterfall Cards

I have really enjoyed making cards. In fact I did not realize how many cool techniques with card making there are. I really like the interactive ones particularly the waterfall card. Here are a couple of versions.

This Butterfly card was made with the footloose paper, lagoon, colonial white, sweet leaf and olive card stock. I used a stamp set from Technique Tuesday for the saying and butterflies. I then used watercolor pencils to color the butterflies.

This was a card I designed for the malamute rescue I volunteer for. It was fun to use some of my dog themed stamps. I used scraps of my papers that I had around. Cards can be a great way to use left over scraps.

This card was also created using some of the papers I had around. I used a stamp set by Technique Tuesday for the wine theme. I used the CTMH stamp set Life is Tweet for the “It’s your birthday”. The “cheers” was stamped using the Trinity alphabet by CTMH.

Autumn Banner

I have been seeing all the wonderful creations that people have done using the banners.  I have been wanting to create my own.   So when I saw the Flirty paper I knew this was the paper.  I love fall so what a perfect place to start.

I used owls and fall leaves as the theme.

Using the August Stamp of the Month I stamped the letters in Desert Sand. For the rosettes I used Desert Sand card stock. The flower shape medallion was done in chocolate card stock.

The leaves were cut out from Flirty yellow, Ponderosa and Desert Sand card stock.

The owl was my favorite. I used buttons for the eyes with a black hole punch in the center. I repeated the rosette for the eyes.

Mojo Monday Card Sketch

I realized this morning I forgot to mail a birthday card to one of my good friends so I added it to my todo list for the day.  As I was reading emails this morning, I came across the Mojo Monday blog update and todays sketch #253.  It also happened to be the one they use for the contest.  So I thought what a great idea, I would create my belated birthday card and submit it to Mojo Monday.

Here is the sketch:

And here is my creation:

I used K&Company paper,  Basic Grey and CTMH colonial card stock. I inked with CTMH lagoon and slate.  I used CTMH Hooray Bouquet stamp for the flower and CTMH Card Chatter – Birthday.  I then used a grey glaze pen to make the dashed around the edges.  I also used a glitter pen to add accent to the stamped flower.

Sympathy Cards

It seems like lately I have unfortunately been needing to send a lot of sympathy cards. This is always a hard time when a friend looses a love one whether it is for a human or a companion animal. I wanted the cards I designed for those that have lost loved ones to be subtle and delicate enough to be sent with a sympathy gift (visit here for a place to find a good sympathy gift). Here are a couple of cards I designed.

In this card I used CTMH A Blossom stamp set, sweet leaf card stock, lagoon card stock, dotty for you paper and sweet leaf and lagoon ink.

For these two cards I used some scraps along with CTMH colonial card stock, blush ink, indian corn blue ink and 4 my friends stamp set.
