Retiring Stamp Sets Blog Hop

Welcome to the Retiring Stamp Sets Blog Hop!

Today you will be hopping with the same talented consultants who bring you the Stamp of the Month blog hop.  Today we are featuring artwork which showcases some of the fabulous stamp sets which will be retiring July 31st.

If you are just arriving here from WENDY KESSLER’S Blog, or just starting at my blog then you are on the right track ~ Welcome!  The blog hop is a great big circle, so you can start here and work your way around.  If you get lost along the way, you can find the complete list of participating  consultants on Melinda’s blog HERE.   For this hop we have about 18 consultants participating so you are going to see some fabulous artwork.

I have been needing to make a few boy birthday cards so I thought I would use the Racecar Birthday B1531.

I thought it would be fun to make it a moving car so I made a pull tab.

I used Whimsy Fundamentals and Little Dreamer papers and popped it with Tangerine.

Well one of the things I have been consumed by recently is my son’s fifth birthday. This year he wanted TEENAGE Mutant Ninja TURTLE as the THEME.  I was able to create some things for the party this year but not as much as in the past.

For the gift bags we made numb chucks out of pool noodles, black duck tape, black nylon cord and 3/4″ pvc pipe ends.  The kids thought they were so fun!ninja-pizza-toss-teenage-mutant-ninja-birthday-catscrapbooking-com

For one of the game I painted an open mouth Micky on a large box and then turned small frisbees into mini pizzas that they could toss into the open mouth.teenage-mutant-ninja-turtle-thank-you-cards-ninja-turtle-birthday-catscrapbooking-comSince I did not get time to create invitations I knew I needed to make the THANK you notes.  These were simple to create.

Now it is time to hop on over to LAUREN MOORE’S BLOG and see what she has created for you today.

With the back to school routine starting back I thought I may have more time but it seems like time is slipping by so fast.  I barely was able to get a project done before I left town this weekend.  Thankfully my son needed a birthday card. My “R”s are Racecar, Ruby and Rushed to complete.

ABC's R ~ Racecar Birthday ~ Ruby ~ CatScrapbooking.comSo for this card I used the following product

I do really love Kaliedoscope, it is such a fun, bright and colorful paper pack!  Have you seen the Card Workshop on the Go for this paper pack?  LOVE IT!!  So perfect for making birthday cards and don’t we all always need birthday cards?   I know I do!!!  I have to admit I love the card designs but with all the pink and having two boys in the house that I need to make some a bit more boyish.  So what I wanted to show you that with just a couple minor changes you can make both boy and girl birthday card.

Kaleidoscope Card Workshop Card 1 ~ Catscrapbooking.comWith the first card I changed the cut of the B&T from 5 1/2 X 4 1/2″ to 5 1/4 X 4″.  I switched the gems for Enamel & Glitter Duo Blue Dots and pulled a bit of Chrystal Blue paper and ink.

Kaliedoscope Card Workshop Card 2 ~ CatScrapbooking.comFor this card the only change is switching Pixie for Crystal Blue and changing the gems to Enamel & Glitter Duos Blue Dots.

Kaliedoscope Card Workshop Card 3 ~ CatScrapbooking.comFor the third card it is switching the cardstock to Crystal blue, along with the ink and changing to the Enamel & Glitter Duo Blue Dots.

Now it is time to hop on over to the SHEILA BENNETT ’S Blog  and see what wonderful creation she has for you.  Here is the full list of participants:

Birthday Boy!!! Aka Fire Chief!

Today is my son’s fourth birthday, wow where doses the time go?  Any way I have been busy working on planning a Fireman theme birthday for him.  He as been so excited and actually seems to be enjoying helping me with some of the creations I have been working on.  I will share more this weekend but I figured I would start with the all important invitation.

Fireman Birthday ~ 4th Birthday ~ catscrapbooking.com The card design is a SVG file from Silhouette Design Store.  I used all Close to My Heart paper ~ Whisper, Slate, Ruby, Black, Canary and Sapphire and In The Background D1540  (retired) stamp set with Canary ink.  Here is what the inside looks like.

Fireman Birthday invitation ~ 4th Birthday ~ catscrapbooking.comI printed the inside of the card on my printer and then colored the letters to look like a flame with some of my markers. All I can say is I have one happy little boy with just the invitations alone.  I hope he has a spectacular birthday!
