Heart 2 Heart ~ Favorite Sketch

Welcome to another weekly challenge with Heart 2 Heart!

This challenge is to use your favorite sketch.  This sketch could be for a card, a layout or anything.  Close to My Heart has wonderful idea books with fantastic sketches for both cards and layouts.  I chose to do a scrapbook layout and used the Make It From Your Heart Volume 3. I selected pattern 34 for my layout and used the So Much Happy paper pack.

There is a cool farm in  Longmont, CO that we discovered soon after moving to Colorado, called the Sunflower Farm.  This layout are photos from our second trip to the farm.

I used my Cricut and the Flower Market Cartridge to cut the sunflowers. I used both sides of the lemon cardstock for the sunflowers.  I also used Lagoon cardstock to mat the photos.  I also used Linen cardstock to create the tittle block.  I know it is really hard to see but I used white watercolor paint to splatter the Linen cardstock and I added a stitched look by using a white gel pen.

I used the So Much Happy complements and the So Much Happy Puffies for details along with elements from the cut-apart paper. I also could not resist using the Dandelion Wishes stamp with the photo so my son with the dandelion. I used white embossing powder on vellum for the flower then fussy cut.

Now it is your time to give it a try and link it to the HEART 2 HEART Challenge. You have until April 30th to participate in this challenge. We love to see your inspirations!!

close to my heart ~ catscapbooking ~ moving layout ~ thincuts

I have to be honest I was not sure I would use the one I chose as the base page; however, when I was playing around with this layout this one was perfect. I used the So Much Happy paper pack as well as the So Much Happy Puffy Stickers.

For this detail I used the Thin Cuts – Stitched Circles and Thin Cuts ~ Basic Circles.

I love the number with this stamp set as they fit perfectly in the date box.  I used Smoothie ink to stamp the numbers.

If you love this stamp set you will want to be sure you purchase it this month as it is only available the month of March and if you spend $50 on qualifying product it could be yours for $5!!

I designed this first day of school layout using the So Much Happy paper pack. I also used Candy Apple, Lemon, Lagoon, Kraft, White, Clover, Linen, Sapphire, Black, and Charcoal. I used a couple Cricut cuts and my thin cuts.

I used the adorable Paper Pals Base and Paper Pals Boywith the coordinating thin cuts. Since the thin cut base is for kids and adults I cut the legs a bit so that the kid would be a bit shorter.  I also used a couple of the tags from the Fancy Tag Thin Cuts.

My son who is now 7 will sometimes like to craft with me. He was hanging out with me in my craft room while I was working on the layout.  He asked if he could play with this stamp set too.  I had to share his creation as I think is turned out super cute!! He even added a few of the Paper Pal Pets.

I then cut it using our new Stencil Sheets. I then added a couple drops of Goldrush re-inker (only because I have not purchased the new Tangerine re-inker).

I now have an official craftroom again and walls to hang artwork. I decided to hang my 12×12 frame and make monthly layouts to add so I can enjoy.  Since it is back to school why not start with a layout to celebrate.

I am so pleased the way it turned out.

I did pull in one retired stamp set to create the pencils.

I used the You’ve Got Class Workshop to make my layout. I used both of the stamp sets You’ve Got Class and School Kids Stamp and Thin Cuts.

Here it is with this year’s photo.

Purposeful Plastic Blog Hop

Welcome to our Technique Blog Hop!  This month there are 11 of us highlighting the Flip Flaps, and Pocket Plus Pages.  This blog hop is a great big circle so you can start wherever you want and continue through to see all the fabulous artwork. If you are coming from DEBI MCBAINS BLOG, you are on the right track!

I love our Pocket Pages Plus but I will admit I do not use them as often as I could.  This summer my son and I planned to do a bunch of hikes and a Park Tour. Rather than creating a layout of every park we went to this summer, I would just make one layout and utilize the Pocket Plus Page.  I have not printed my photos but the layout is ready.

Here is the full layout~ I used Central Park paper pack and the layout #33 from the Make it from Your Heart Vol 3. Here are the Pocket Plus pages.

I created a list on my computer of all the parks we went to and split them over two of pockets.  I will be adding 2 photos to this side. I used all the PML cards in this paper pack to fill the Pocket Plus openings.

I will be adding journaling and notes about our different adventures once the photos are printed.

The last Pocket Plus page is this one.

I found this playground image on my Silhouette so I used it with coordinating cardstock to add to the sun ray paper.

Thanks for stopping by!  Please continue onto HALEY DYER’S BLOG where you will find some additional artwork highlighting the Masking!  Be sure to leave a comment and let me know what you thought and happy hopping!

Seasonal Expression 2 New Product Blog Hop

Welcome to the Seasonal Expression 2 New Product Blog Hop!

Today you will be hopping with the same talented consultants who bring you the Stamp of the Month blog hop.  Today we are featuring artwork which showcases our some of the new product that was just released in the new Seasonal Expressions 2 Idea Book.

If you are just arriving here from KIRSTEN JADES Blog, or just starting at my blog then you are on the right track ~ Welcome!  The blog hop is a great big circle, so you can start here and work your way around. If you get lost along the way, you can find the complete list of participating  consultants on Melinda’s blog HERE.   For this hop we have about 20 consultants participating so you are going to see some fabulous artwork.

This summer my son and I are planning on getting a hike in every week so I decided I would get a jump start on the layout and create a “bucket list” of hikes we could do.  So My plan is to take a photo or two from each hike and add it to this layout.  I will plan to add pocket pages to account for the additional photos.  As we complete a hike on this list I can just check it off!

I used the Make it from Your Heart Volume 3 to create my layout.  It is based off pattern 31 which shows you how you can utilize the pocket pages for more photos, which I intend to do.  I used the Fresh Air paper pack and both the Fresh Air Cardmaking and Fresh Air Scrapbooking stamp sets.

In this photo you can see the brown dots, these are the white dots which have been colored using a brown ShinHan Marker. I also used the New England Ivy Ribbon and the Fresh Air shapes.

The adventure title was cut using my Cricut and my Flower Market cartridge.

National Scrapbooking Month

Happy National Scrapbooking Day and Month!! I’ll be it I am a bit late today in posting this since the day is almost over. But it is never late to celebrate memory keeping!! I don’t complete layout as often as I want but crafting is what calms and de-stresses me! I wanted to share a couple of layouts I completed recently.  I have been able to use some to the paper packs I have been saving for  a while.

This layout I designed using the Beary Christmas paper pack.  I am not pleased with the color exposure but I am happy how the layout turned out.

This lay out is using the Dream Big paper pack.  It is one of my favorites as is it great for boy colors!

I hope you are celebrating by getting a few layouts completed yourself.  I am getting caught up with the photos I have printed.  So soon I will need to work on photos and getting them printed so I an take the next step and get them scrapbooked.

Happy Crafting!
