Pokemon Birthday

This year my son is totally into Pokemon, so of course that is the theme of his 7th birthday.  So I had fun making his invitations and Birthday card.

I purchased a couple of Pokemon SVG files so I was able to make this card.  I then used one of my dies for the red background.

For his birthday card I decided to do a pop-up card. Here is what it looked liked flattened.

And now popped up.

Here you can see Pikachu and Bulbasaur, although he is a bit hidden behind the balloons and streamers.

In this view you can see Charzard.

The birthday and party was a big success!! We officially have more Pokemon cards than we know what to do with.

Color Dare 311 ~ Ballerina, Saffron and Peacock

Welcome to this weeks Color My Heart Color Challenge!  This week for Color Dare #311 we are challenging you to use these CTMH Colors: BALLERINA, SAFFRON and PEACOCK with the option of GOLD.  You are able to use neutrals – Black, Grey, Brown, Kraft, Cream and White in your design but no other colors.  Also if you do not have exact Close To My Heart color you may use a close substitute.

I have been wanting to try our new shaker card thin cuts. So I jumped in….

For this card I used a couple of the pattern papers from the Boutique Paper Pack.  I also used the Grateful Heart – Cardmaking Stamp Set for the sentiment and butterfly. To color my butterfly I actually used the Saffron ink and Peacock ink with just a bit of water.  You can do this in on of two ways 1) squeeze the ink pad together while closed then us the ink on the top or 2) stamp the ink pad on your All Purpose Mat and then use your watercolor brush.   I also use pattern 16 from the Make It From Your Heart Volume 4.  I am in LOVE with our new Shaker thin cuts, Shaker Window Foam and Loose Sequins.

Now it is your turn to create! If you are coming from KIMBERLY BOWERS BLOG, you are on the right track!

As irony would have it I planned to used my stitched dies to crate my card; however, I cannot for the live of me find my “C” plate to my Cuttlebug.  I went to Hobby Lobby, Michaels and even Walmart but no one carries it. UGH!!!!! So what do you do improvise… I started using different pieces of cardboard to see if I could create the right size shim. Thankfully I was able to find a good combination.  Now I am just waiting on Amazon to send my my new one.

I used the new Love of Color how to book.  I used the color combination Ruby, Pebble, Peacock, and Sugarplum.  I used the love from the Artbooking Cartridge. The “you” came from Colorful Texture Stamp set.  I used the Stitched Heart thin cuts and then used my black pen to create a stitched look.

Thanks for stopping by!  Please continue onto ANNEMARIE JULIAN’S BLOG where you will find some additional artwork highlighting the Masking!  Be sure to leave a comment and let me know what you thought and happy hopping!

This stamp set is wonderful as there are soooo many ways you could use it.  here are two that I came up with.

The first one I created was this one.

I used the new Boutique Paper Pack.  I loved the PML card from this pack as my pattern paper. I then used Peacock, Glacier and Sugarplum. I masked the Sentiment with Peacock and Sugarplum.

I also used the new Sugarplum Shimmer brush to add a bit of glimmer to the card.  It is hard to see but the dots and drops I added the shimmer.  I also added it to the the peppermints.

For this card I used the Hello Pumpkin paper pack. I love the Ghost from the Hello Pumpkin Scrapbooking Stamp Set but I really wanted the reverse image too.  So I googled how to do it and found this video.   I also used the Hello Pumpkin Washi Tape.

I wanted to add a bit of shimmer to this as well so I used the new Black Shimmer Brush for the eyes, drops, dots and the “no”. I also masked the sentiment with Black, Nectarine and Pansy.

If you love this stamp set you will want to be sure you purchase it this month as it is only available the month of September and if you spend $50 on qualifying product it could be yours for $5!!
