I knew I wanted to show the subtle differences with the light and darker sides of our new cardstock but I was not quite sure how to do this…. so I turned to Pinterest.  I stumbled on a image for quilting and though perfect.  Here is what I came up with.

I used the lighter side of the papers for the top triangles and darker on the bottom.  I used Willow, Canary, Thistle and Lagoon.  I also incorporated two of the basic ~ Mink and Charcoal. I used All the Thanks B1536 Stamp set for the sentiment.

Thanks for stopping by!  Please continue onto MICHELLE LONCAR’S BLOG where you will find some additional artwork highlighting this technique!  Be sure to leave a comment and let me know what you thought of my variation and happy hopping!

Fire Station Tour Layout

I have been finding a bit more time or should I say I have been making a bit more time to do some of the things I love to do.  I have fallen very behind on my scrapbooking, so I have been focused at getting back into it.  I was able to design a layout of my son’s first fire station tour back in 2014.

For this layout I used a couple of the Jack paper pack along with some of the Enchantment Fundamentals.  I also added a little of the Adventure ribbon.

That pencil totally caught my eye, so my card centered around the pencil image.  My son is starting kindergarten this year and though this may be a great card to give him on his first day. Hard to believe school starts in just three weeks.

For this card I used the new Enchanted Fundamental Papers.  I used my shinhan markers to color the pencils.

If you love this stamp set you will want to be sure you purchase it this month as it is only available the month of March and if you spend $50 on qualifying product it could be yours for $5!!

Welcome to this weeks Color My Heart Color Challenge!  This week for Color Dare #253 we are challenging you to combine  Gold, White Daisy, Slate, Glacier, Willow, Tangerine & Poppy.

I have been wanting to play with June’s Technique Tuesday fish so I though this may be great for this color combination.

I used my Slate pigment ink to stamp the fish then added clear embossing powder to keep the ink from lifting off when I watercolored.

Now it is your turn to create! Just create a project (card, layout or other craft project) using this weeks colors.  Then link them to the Color My Heart Blog ~ Color Dare #253 or you can post them to the COLOR MY HEART FaceBook page.  For this Color Dare Challenge, you have until Thursday June 29, 2017 at 10:00 p.m. Eastern Time to submit your project.   We love to see your inspirations.

Fun with Stencils

Welcome to our Technique Blog Hop!  This month there are 8 of us highlighting Fun with Stencils. This blog hop is a great big circle so you can start wherever you want and continue through to see all the fabulous artwork incorporating this technique.

If you are coming from MICHELLE LONCAR BLOG, you are on the right track!

So I decided to to utilize one of the succulents from the Flower Market Cricut Cartridge. So I cut them at varying sizes along with the base layer.

Then I placed the cut outs on white cardstock starting in the middle.  Once the succulent was sponged I then took the base layer and masked that spot.  I then layered all the different succulents, sponging and masking as I added layers.

This is how the base turned out.  I then added a sentiment.

I used the Little Dreamer Paper Pack for the strip and Blossom cardstock for the oval.  I used the new oval thin cuts.

Thanks for stopping by!  Please continue onto JUDY FAYE GARNER’S BLOG where you will find some additional artwork highlighting this technique!  Be sure to leave a comment and let me know what you thought of my variation and happy hopping!

For this layout I used the Prickly Pear Paper pack.  The colors work great with my photos.
