Color Dare #349 ~ Love of Color

Happy Friday!  This week we have another Fun Color Dare Challenge for you.  This week for Color Dare #349 it is our Love of Color.  This week our colors are WILLOW, CLOVER, PANSY, RASPBERRY, PEACH, and LILAC.  Simply choose at least 3 of the Colors – Black, White and Neutrals are Free.

For my design team entry, I chose to use Willow, Clover, Pansy, Raspberry and White Daisy.

For this card I used a retired paper as the background.  It is the Willow pattern paper from Adventure papers.  I used both sides of Clover, Raspberry, Pansy and White Daisy. The ribbon is also retired.  The stamp sets I used for this card are Elegant Peacock and Escape to Paradise. I used the thin cuts with the Escape to Paradise to cut three of the hibiscus flowers, one in Raspberry, then two in Clover.  I then fussy cut to combine them into one.

Now it is your turn to create! Just create a project (card, layout or other craft project) using this weeks colors.  Then link them to the Color My Heart Blog ~ Color Dare #343 or you can post them to the COLOR MY HEART FaceBook page.  For this Color Dare Challenge, you have until Thursday, July 11, 2019 at 10:00 p.m. Eastern Time to submit your project.   We love to see your inspirations.

Heart 2 Heart ~ You are My Sunshine

Welcome to another weekly challenge with Heart 2 Heart!

This weeks theme is YOU ARE MY SUNSHINE!  I was finally finding time to work on my Craft with Heart subscription.  And one of the layouts totally fit this challenge.  This layout is from the Craft On which is the August kit.  I ordered the year so I get the four with each new catalog at once. I have to be totally honest in that I was not sure I would love these kits as much as I have.  They have totally helped me to get more of my scrapbooking pages completed.  I know not every layout fits with the photos I want to scrapbook; however, with a few easy changes they can totally work for me.

This layout has bunch of flower, but it totally works for photos of my son on a nature walk.  I added a few insects to make it work better with these photos.  The stamp set I used is a retired one called Bugs and Hugs.

Now it is your time to give it a try and link it to the HEART 2 HEART Challenge. You have until June 30th to participate in this challenge. We love to see your inspirations!!

Color Dare #348 ~ Into the Wild Tic-Tac-Toe

This week we have another Fun Color Dare Challenge for you.  This week for Color Dare #348 we have our popular Tic-Tac-Toe board using the colors for Into the Wild.  For this challenge you can use any diagonal, row or column, you can add in any of the other colors.  Blacks & Whites are FREE but no other neutrals!

I used the first row and the diagonal with Linen, Gold, Fern.  I also added in Charcoal and Almond.

I used Pattern 14 from the Make It From Your Heart Volume 4, although I modified it from a square to a circle. The two pattern papers are from Into the Wild paper pack.  I used the Little Aussies stamp set. I stamped it with Sapphire pigment ink and then used Clear embossing powder on the crocodile.  I stamped the pigment ink on Linen cardstock.  I used Fern and Almond inks to watercolor the crocodile. I also used new Sapphire Crochet Thread.

Now it is your turn to create! Just create a project (card, layout or other craft project) using this weeks colors.  Then link them to the Color My Heart Blog ~ Color Dare #348 or you can post them to the COLOR MY HEART FaceBook page.  For this Color Dare Challenge, you have until Thursday, July 4, 2019 at 10:00 p.m. Eastern Time to submit your project.   We love to see your inspirations.

Heart 2 Heart ~ Craft On

Welcome to another weekly challenge with Heart 2 Heart!

This challenge is Craft On!  While Close to my Heart does have a great paper pack with this name so that would be an easy way to participate in this challenge. But you can interpret this any way you see fit.

I decided to go with the Craft On Paper Pack.

I had these photos of my son and I, which was not as common for me to have.  Before I started taking selfies and mostly using my cell phone as my camera, there were not as many photos of the two of us as I am generally the one behind the camera. I used the Craft On paper pack, using 4 of the different printed papers.  I also used White Daisy, Emerald, Pixie and Lemon cardstock.  I am loving our thin cuts and used the Stitched Flowers and Fancy Tags.  I could not leave the layout without adding a bit of bling with the Crafty-Loose Sequins.

Now it is your time to give it a try and link it to the HEART 2 HEART Challenge. You have until June 30th to participate in this challenge. We love to see your inspirations!!

Technique Hop – Pocket Power!

Welcome to our Technique Blog Hop!

This month we are focusing on Pockets… Close to My Heart has a wide variety of pockets protectors, flip flaps and our Stories by Stacy.  I love flip flaps as they are an easy way to add more photos to a layout.  I also love the Pocket Plus protectors as they enable you to add more photos.  There are around 8 of us participating in the Pocket Power Hop.  This blog hop is a great big circle so you can start wherever you want and continue through to see all the fabulous artwork. If you are coming from KATY TAYLOR’S Blog, you are on the right track!

I decided to focus on Flip Flaps but with a twist.  I used a 4×6 flip flap to make a shaker card.

I started by random stamping the White Daisy cardstock.  I used Pixie, Lemon, Emerald, Bluebird, Carolina, and Thistle.

I used a post-it note to mask off the balloons as I stamped.  The balloons are from Party Balloons Stamp Set.

After stamping I cut the letters and decided the 4×6 flip flap would work best. I used Thin Cut Block Alphabet to cut the happy.

I trimmed the flip flap and then used foam tape around the perimeter of the flip flap.  Added some of the Crafty Loose sequins.  I decided to use Thistle behind the flip flap to add a bit more color. The birthday is also from the Party Balloons Stamp Set and was stamped on Carolina cardstock.

Thanks for stopping by!  Please continue onto HALEY DYER’S BLOG where you will find some additional artwork using our Pockets!  Be sure to leave a comment and let me know what you thought and happy hopping!

Color Dare #347 ~ Blues

Welcome to another week of Color Dare!  This week we have a good one for you.  This weeks challenge is BLUES!  You can use up to two neutrals and BLACK & WHITES are free.

With Father’s Day this weekend I figured a Father’s Day card was in order.

Here is the inside of the card.

I made this card for my husband.  I used Mink cardstock for the base.  I stamped it with the sentiment then used the Subway Tile embossing folder and embossed the top 3 inches.  I used the Into the Wild paper pack and the retired Blue Burlap Ribbon.  I also used Black & White Dots on the cover and the Star Thin cuts on the inside.

Now it is your turn to create! Just create a project (card, layout or other craft project) using this weeks colors.  Then link them to the Color My Heart Blog ~ Color Dare #347 or you can post them to the COLOR MY HEART FaceBook page.  For this Color Dare Challenge, you have until Thursday, June 27, 2019 at 10:00 p.m. Eastern Time to submit your project.   We love to see your inspirations.

Heart 2 Heart ~ Geometric

Welcome to another weekly challenge with Heart 2 Heart!

For this challenge it is Geometric.  I looked up the definition of geometric and it is using straight or curved lines in designs or outlines. Another is of or relating to art based on simple geometric shapes (such as straight lines, circles, or squares). I decided to create a circular card for this challenge.

Close to My Heart ~ CTMH ~ CatScrapbooking ~ Shaker Card~ One Year Older ~ Party Balloons

I went to my cricut to look for a circle card ~ which I can say I have never remember creating one ~ I found on the Art Philosophy Cartridge which has been retired.  I thought the One Year Older Stamp Set would work great for this card.  I also paired it with the Party Balloons Stamp Set. The striped paper is from True Love Paper Pack.  To make the shaker you do need a few key items such as the Shaker Window Thin Cuts, Shaker Window with Acetate, and Loose Sequins – Silver.

Now it is your time to give it a try and link it to the HEART 2 HEART Challenge. You have until June 30th to participate in this challenge. We love to see your inspirations!!

So I had an idea to do the a black / white version of a card.  Here is how it turned out…

Close to My Heart ~ CTMH ~ CatScrapbooing ~ June SOTM ~ It's Your Day to Sparkle

So I decided to do two version which were the opposite of each other.  I started with the one on the left.

Close to My Heart ~ CTMH ~ CatScrapbooing ~ June SOTM ~ It's Your Day to Sparkle

I used Versamark ink on the Black cardstock and then heat embossed with White Embossing Powder. I then used our Watercolor Paints to color the flowers and cake.  I find the pencils are not able to get as rich of a color on the darker cardstock.  I used the pink pattern from the Mix-in Paper pack and the Black & White Polka Dot paper from Craft On Paper Pack.  I used the white dots from the Black & White Dots.
