Winter Skies Thank You Cards

Now that Christmas is over it is time to bring out the Thank You Cards.  I make a special thank you card every year to mail out for my son and I.  I just want to make sure those who sent gifts know we appreciate them. Today I was able to carve out some time to design an make all the cards I needed this year.

Check out all those bears and trees….

Here are the two versions of the card I made.  I was inspired to make my purple background after seeing a card on Instagram by Hippofee. I used a retired stamp set called Swirling Stars. The bears and trees are from WINTER SKIES which is a Lawn Fawn Stamp Set.  The Thank You and curved dashed border are also Lawn Fawn.  My thank you cards works well with HEART 2 HEART‘s last challenge of the year…. Wish Upon A Star.

I used Lilac cardstock for the mat and Thistle for the Thank You. I used copic markers to color the trees and scarf. I stamped Swirling Stars with Versamark ink and then heat embossed with White embossing powder. I then sponged the background using Lilac, Thistle and Pansy inks.

For this version I used Bluebird cardstock for the base and Sapphire for the Thank you. The background was crated the same way using Bluebird and Sapphire inks.

Bold and Bright Color Dare Challenge #322

Welcome to a special Color My Heart Color Dare month long challenge! If you need to make a card for a special occasion we are challenging you to use your “Bright and Bold” colors and neutrals of your choice. Theme is “Anything Goes” – birthday, wedding, anniversary, thank you and/or holiday card if you still need one.

I decided to make a Christmas card using the Oh What Fun papers.  We are partnering with Double Trouble Challenge to make it extra fun if you wish to play along.  To play along with the Double Trouble Challenge…

Double Trouble is using a 3,2,1 Recipe with Ingredients: 3-Embellishments, 2-Colors, 1- Stamp or Digital Element
You may use more than the recipe ingredients, but you need to include at least (minimum) what is in the recipe.
The ingredients may be in the image or added.

Twisted Sister’s Optional Twist would be: “I made the Nice List, time to make some cookies for Santa”
and my optional twist is to include something you’d find or make in the kitchen – a rolling pin, mixer, apron,
cookies, birthday cake, etc.

Now it is your turn to create! Just create a project (card, layout or other craft project) using this weeks colors. Then link them to the Color My Heart Blog ~ Color Dare #322 or you can post them to the COLOR MY HEART FaceBook page.  For this Color Dare Challenge, you have until Thursday December 30, 2018 at 10:00 p.m. Eastern Time to submit your project.   We love to see your inspirations!!!

I have been helping out this year with the Staff and Teacher Appreciation committee this year at my son’s school.  We have been doing a variety of things for the Staff and Teachers each month as part of the PTA. This month we are doing the Five days of Christmas which started this morning.  I designed the sign using our large letter as one of the focal points.

The JOY is using our Chipboard Monogram Letters. All the other letters were cut using my Cricut.  I used Fern and New England Ivy cardstock along with the Tis the Season papers.  The chipboard letters are covered in Gold Glitter Paper. I also embellished the letters with some additional items. The Poinsettias, Holly and Ornaments are all from Flower Market Cricut Cartridge. I used the Candy Apple Stripped Ribbon and the New England Ivy Burlap Ribbon too.

I was out of time before going on our vacation as I planned to design a layout.  I had an inspiration for a card and it came together rather quickly I am quite pleased on how it turned out.

I focused on the “H” and “O” to stamp out HO HO.  I decided to make one stand out with the New England Ivy.  I used the ‘Tis The Season Paper Pack.  I also used the Make It From Your Heart Volume 4 and used pattern 12 as my design. I used the Silver Glitter Gems and New England Ivy Burlap Ribbon.

I decided to add a little sparkle to my HO HO’s. I used my Red Shimmer brush on the Candy Apple stamped HO’s and then added a bit of Liquid Glass and Shimmer Brush to the New England Ivy “HO”.

If you love this stamp set you will want to be sure you purchase it this month as it is only available the month of December and if you spend $50 on qualifying product it could be yours for $5!!
