Color Dare #191 ~ Oranges with Colonial White

Welcome to this weeks Color My Heart Color Challenge!  This week for Color Dare #189 we are challenging you to combine SHADES OF ORANGE & COLONIAL WHITE.

Color Dare #191I wasn’t really sure what I was going to do for this hop… When I went into my craft room I had the May SOTM out and decided to play around with it.  Here is the finished product:

Color Dare #191 ~ Celebrate with Cat ~ Oranges with Colonial White ~ CatScrapbooking.comI used Poppy pigment inks to stamp the cake layers.  I then used the watercolor paints to color the cake.  I liked how the cake turned out but it needed something so, I added some splatters using the watercolor paints.  It still needed some bling so I use the bitty sparkles and coral sequins.

Here is the full list of supplies used:

Now it is your turn to create! Just create a project (card, layout or other craft project) using this weeks colors.  Then link them to the Color My Heart Blog ~ Color Dare #191 or you can post them to the COLOR MY HEART FaceBook page.  For this Color Dare Challenge, you have until Thursday May 5, 2016 at 10:00 p.m. Eastern Time to submit your project.   We love to see your inspirations.

Happy Crafting!

  1. Great card! Love the splatters in the background and great watercolouring job on the image.

  2. Lovely card, Cat! I love the soft colors of the cake. The splatters and sequins really add nice details.

  3. I love the background splattering…some day I may feel comfortable to do this; but I’m always afraid that I will ruin what I started. My daughter keeps encouraging me to try it. CAS and very pretty card.

  4. Fabulous card, Cat! I love how you watercolored the image and then splattered the background–it gave it such a “fun and festive” feel to the card.

  5. Love the fun, celebratory mood of your card, Cat!
