Scaredy Cat Wreath

I can’t believe Halloween is tomorrow and as much as I wanted to design another Halloween layout, card or home decor, I  have run out of time.  So I decided to show how versatile seasonal paper packs can be.   Just because something is labeled as Halloween does not mean it is it only purpose.

I used last years Scaredy Cat paper pack to design this really cool wreath using cones. Dahlia Wreath ~ Cone Wreath ~ Scardy Cat ~ CatScrapbooking.comTo make this wreath I cut 4″ x4″ squares for the outer three rings then reduced the size to 3 3/4″ x 3 3/4″ and the inner most ring is 3″ x 3″.  I then created the cones and hot glued them to an ~ 11″ circle of scrap mat board. The center is a Whisper cardstock cut from Artiste #M41354 then the Colonial White is just a 2.84″ circle.  The doily is cut from Artiste also #M41354  cut at 2.71″ high in Sunset.  The finished wreath size is about 19″ in diameter. I love this Dahlia style wreath and designed another one which I will share with you next Saturday so be sure to check back.

HoHoHo Glass Block

I am definitely getting into the holiday spirit a little early.  I decided to design a fun holiday glass block.  HoHoHo Glass Block ~ Holiday Glass Block ~Artiste ~ CatScrapbooking.comThe HoHoHo is from the Artiste cartridge.  I did a bit of slicing in order to make the middle “Ho” its own cut.  This way I could make it two tone.  The snowflakes are from Artistry.  I added the fake snow and a mini strand of lights.  I am really pleased the way this turned out.

Merry Christmas Gift Tag ~ Holly ~ Art Philosophy ~ CatScrapbooking.comThis tag is from Art Philosophy.  I backed the leaves with green glitter paper and the holly with red shimmer trim.  I then created a back by cutting a tag an hiding the contour lines.Snowflake Gift Tag ~ Holiday gift tags ~ Art Philosophy ~ CatScrapbooking.comThis one is also from the Art Philosophy cartridge.  I backed it with the new white glitter paper and then created a back to the tag by hiding the contour lines and cutting the tag again.Twinkle Gift Tag ~ October SOTM ~ CatScrapbooking.comThis one is using this months stamp of the month ~ Twinke.  I got the idea to stamp the light bulbs so they looked like they were glowing from the talented Wendy Coffman.  She inked them then stamped off once then rolled the edges in the ink again before stamping on the tag.  I so love this look!Merry Chrstmas Gift Tag ~ White Pines Card Workshop ~ CatScrapbooking.comFor this tag the base is cut from Artiste and then stamped with White Pines Card Workshop stamp set and the gifts are from the Miracle of Christmas D1656.Warmest Wishes ~ Lawn fawn Joy in the Woods ~ CatScrapbooking.comThis one is using a stamp set called Joy in the Woods by Lawn Fawn. I have the thin dies to cut the fox, tree and ornament.  I used the new watercolor paints to color the stamped images.

Everything ABC’s Blog Hop ~ V

Welcome to the Everything ABC Blog Hop!

ABC's Blog HopFor this hop we will be featuring the letter “V”.  This may be the name of a paper, a stamp set or an embellishment.  Whatever the crafter has chosen as their “V” element will be featured in their post.

If you have just hopped onto my blog, welcome!  If you just hopped here from DIANA SANDERS’ Blog then you are in the right place.   The blog hop is a great big circle, so you can start here and work your way around.  If you get lost along the way, you can find the complete list of participating  consultants on Linda’s blog HERE.

Since the letter “V” is as challenging a “U” before it when it come to crafting.  I decided to look at my Cricut Cartidges again.  Well I was VERY VICTORIOUS as I was working on a project with the Nevermore paper pack and I was needing some Halloween cuts.  Guess what is on page 71 of the Artbooking booklet??? The letter “V” and the five perfect cuts.  I purchased these BOO letters last year but never got around to completing them, so I was determined to do it this year.

Nevermore ~ Boo Letters ~ ABC's V ~ Artbooking ~ CatScrapbooking.com

Her is how it turned out.  All of the cuts are from Close to My Heart Cricut cartridges, except the tree and ghosts, these are from my Silhouette .  The ravens and spider are found on page 70 of Artbooking.  The moon, bats, fence, house and Beware also come from Artbooking on page 71.  The spider web and tombstone are from Artiste page 76.

Here is a close up of each letter.Nevermore ~ Artbooking ~ Boo Letters B ~ ABC's V ~ CatScrapbooking.comNevermore ~ Artbooking ~ Boo Letters O ~ ABC's V ~ CatScrapbooking.comNevermore ~ Artbooking ~ Boo Letters O2 ~ ABC's V ~ CatScrapbooking.com

Christmas Tags Part 1

As you may have read some of my prior posts I am working on items for a Craft Fair I will be participating in next month.  I have been thinking of crafts that would be great for a Holiday Craft Fair ~ gift sets,  cards, ornaments, teacher gifts …..  I thought everyone needs gift tags particularly with the holidays coming up.  I love gift tags and unfortunately did not make any last year and I refuse to purchase ones since I can make my own. So I have been busy…

Here are a couple tags I crated using the new Artistry cartridge.HoHoHo Santa Gift Tag ~ Artistry ~ CatScrapbooking.comYou can find this adorable Santa on page 47 of the new Artistry handbook.  I thought he would look so cute on the new Fern cardstock.  The tag is 3.89″ high and 2.4″ wide.  See below for the link for the Design Space with cut file. Noel Gift Tag ~ Glitter Tree ~ Artistry ~ CatScrapbooking.comI love this one, with the glitter paper.  The green is actually a retired glitter paper but we now have this new awesome green shimmer trim which could also use.  I did use shimmer trim at the top and bottom whit the Gold and Bronze.Warmest Wishes ~ Snowman Gift Tag ~ Artistry ~ CatScrapbooking.comThis snowman is so cute!! I used a snowflake embossing folder to create texture on the snowman.  I added  little shimmer trim to the bottom.   The pom pom on the hat and the trim of the hat are colored with a white gel pen and then gone over with some Stickles ~ crystal.

I really hope these go over well as I crated a lot; however, if they don’t no worries as I love them and will be using them for Christmas for the next couple years 🙂 . Here is the LINK to the Design Space cuts, if you use it please be sure to give credit.

Nevermore Gift Card Set

I will be participating in my first Craft Fair next month so I have been busy working on items to sell.  I was looking through my pins on Pinterest and found two things which inspired me.  I found a card designed by Aaron Barron which combined Nevermore with the Paper Garden stamp set you can see it here.  I also found a Book Box which looked intriguing so I decided to give it a try.  Here is what I designed.

Nevermore Gift Card Box ~ Paper Garden ~ CatScrapbooking.comThis is the cover and what the cards look like I used Eggplant as the base cardstock.  On the cover I used four flowers where the cards only have two.  I used a retired embellishment for the center of the flower. Nevermore Gift Card Box ~ Paper Garden ~ CatScrapbooking.com

When you open the cover, which I secured with hook and loops there is a pocket which holds four 4 1/4″ X 5 1/2″ cards and envelopes.  Nevermore Gift Card Set open ~ Paper Garden ~ CatScrapbooking.comHere is another view.  I really love the way this card and box turned out.  I actually designed a second one using a different stamp and paper, I will post it in a couple of days.

I thought I would share with you how to create this Book Style Card Box.  You will need two pieces ~ a 8 1/2″ x 11″ and a 3 ” x 8 1/2″ piece of cardstock.  Starting with the 8 1/2″ X 11″ piece of cardstock.Book Style Gift Box how-to #1 ~ CatScrapbooking.comThenBook Style Gift Box how-to #2 ~ CatScrapbooking.comNow with the 3′ X 8 1/2″  score as follows.Book Style Card Box how-to #3 ~ CatScrapbooking.comThen trim away these sections:Book Style Gift Card Box how-to #4 ~ CatScrapbooking.comBook Style Card Gift Box how-to #5 ~ CatScrapbooking.comAdd adhesive to secure the two pieces to make the box I used Scor Tape.Book Style Gift Card Box how-to #6 ~ CatScrapbooking.comThese are super easy to create and I believe will make great gifts and I hope sell well at the craft fair.

Technique Blog Hop ~Diffuse Your Artwork

Welcome to the Technique Blog Hop!12074971_10153184519667934_2043297595245056291_n

This month we are featuring the technique of ~ DIFFUSERS!  Close to My Heart has just released two diffusers which are to be used with our embossing folders.  You can find these new diffusers on  page 122 of the new Annual Inspirations Idea book.  Diffusers are so cool as it will crate a non-embossed area on the paper you want to emboss. I know that sounds confusing but just take a look at the artwork and it will make more sense.  This month we have 6 consultants featuring artwork using this technique.  If you just hopped onto my blog or arrived from PRICILLA GOTHAM ’S Blog then you are in the right place.  This blog hop is a great big circle so you can start wherever you want and continue through to see all the fabulous artwork incorporating this technique.

Diffuser technique ~ Sangria ~ Housewarming Hello ~ CatScrapbooking.comYou can see the embossed Colonial White and in the middle where the house is stamped it is still smooth.  There is the list of products used:

Now hop on over to MICHELLE LONCAR’S Blog and see what she has created for you to day.  If you get lost along here is the full list of participants.

Coffee Cup Gift Holder

Have you seen the super cute coffee cup on page 5 of the new Artistry Cricut cartridge? I have seen a lot of great artwork using it on cards but I got to thinking wouldn’t it be great to make it into a sleeve with a gift card holder??? I saw a couple on Pinterest one designed by Krista Hershberger which helped me with the inspiration.  I decided to make it a pocket style card  so I went to Design Space to create this card.

Thank you Coffee gift card holder ~ Zoe ~ Artistry ~ Art Philosophy ~ CatScrapbooking.comHere is what it looks like when you pull up the white lid.Thank you Gift card holder inside ~ Zoe ~ Artistry ~ Artiste ~ Catscrapbooking.comThe pattern paper part of the cup is actually two parts, I added wings on to one side so they can be adjoined to make a sleeve. I use part of a sleeve to make the gift card insert.  Here is the LINK for the Design Space file, you will need both the Artistry and Artiste cartridge if you wish to use it.

Here is the full list of supplies used:

I made a bunch of these for a craft fair I will be participating in next month.  I think they will go over well particularly as Teacher Gift Cards.
