Welcome to the Neighborhood

We just had new neighbors move in next door so I wanted to do something nice for them.  I baked some banana bread and designed a cute card.  I decided to look through my Cricut shapes to see if there was a house or house card, since the only stamp set I have with a house is a retired CTMH stamp set.  I found a really cute card on the Art Philosophy cartridge. Here is how it turned out:

Welcome to the Neighborhood ~ Art Philosophy ~ Brushed ~ catscrapbooking.com

I cut the card using Kraft cardstock using the dimensions 5.2 x 10.45 “.  Then using Design Space I hid the contour lines and cut the card base 4.94 x 10.04” (I did have to unlock the dimensions to get this size) in Juniper.  I then used the Brushed paper pack to back the trees and house.  I added a little bling with the bitty sparkles and the Junebug Puffies (retired). The stamp set I used is Around the Block which is also a retired.

ABC’S Blog Hop ~ L

Welcome to the Everything ABC’s Hop!

ABC's Blog Hop

For this hop we will be featuring the letter “L”.  This may be the name of a paper, a stamp set or an embellishment.  Whatever the crafter has chosen as their “L” element will be featured in their post.

If you have just hopped onto my blog, welcome!  If you just hopped here from LAUREN MOORE’S Blog  then you are in the right place.   The blog hop is a great big circle, so you can start here and work your way around.  If you get lost along the way, you can find the complete list of participating  consultants on Linda’s blog HERE.

I was trying to think about what would be a fun “L” element….. I was inspired by a new die I had seen in a magazine and really wanted to use it. How could I incorporate it into this hop…. LANDSCAPE!!!  So my “L”s are LANDSCAPE and LAGOON.

Ice Cream Dreams ~ ABC's L ~ Slidder card ~ catscrapbooking.com I found this cool metal die by The Cat’s Pajamas ~ Slider so I could make easy slider cards.  I made a slid in the Lagoon Fundamental paper.  I also used the Thistle Fundamental paper to make the pull tab as well as the awning for the Ice Cream Truck.  I used my blending pen to color the truck.

Ice Cream Dreams ~ ABC's L ~ Slidder card inside ~ catscrapbooking.comI used foam tape to attach the Lagoon Fundamental to give room for the card to slide.  Since I attached this to a card base I still have the inside of the card to write my message to my recipient.

Products used for this project:

  • Fundamental Paper Pack ~ Adventure and Whimsy
  • Cardstock ~ White Daisy, Thistle, and Canary
  • Inks ~ Momento Black, Pear, Canary, Slate, Lagoon, Thistle and Pixie
  • Embellishments ~ Clear Sparkle Assortment and Pink Shimmer trim
  • Stamp Set ~ Ice Cream Dream S1506 (only available the month of June 2015)

Now it is time to hop on over to MARIE GOETZ’S Blog and check out what she has created for you today!

Color Dare #145 ~ Sunset, Honey, Topiary, Pacifica, Gypsy, White Daisy and Desert Sand

Welcome to this weeks Color My Heart Color Challenge!  This week we are featuring Sunset, Honey, Topiary, Pacifica, Gypsy, White Daisy and Desert Sand for Color Dare #145.

11182238_10152982591129440_3376621356148734751_nI have been wanting to play around with the stamp set Shower Flowers as it has some really cute flowers which can be layered.  When I saw these colors, I knew it would be perfect for this weeks color challenge.

Color Dare #145 ~ Shower Flowers ~ ctmh ~ catscrapbooking.comI love the fundamental paper packs as when you need a pattern paper they work every time.  I used the Topiary which is from the Adventure Fundamental paper pack as my background.  I then used the Sunset, Honey, Topiary, Pacifica, Gypsy, and Desert Sand inks and stamped on White Daisy cardstock using the Shower Flower C1612.  It did involve a lot of fussy cutting but the end result is worth it.  I used foam tape to pop some up and adhered all of them to Desert Sand cardstock.  The sentiment was stamped using Finding the Words D1646 using Sunset ink for the banner and Pacifica for the words.

Now it is your turn to create! Just create a project (card, layout or other craft project) using this weeks colors.  Then link them to the Color My Heart Blog ~ Color Dare #145.  For this Color Dare Challenge, you have until Thursday June 11, 2015 at 10:00 p.m. Eastern Time to submit your project.   We love to see your inspirations.

Happy Crafting!
