Glass Block ~ Easter ~ ABC's G

I am really liking my Cricut Explore and it is my go to for cutting vinyl!!  In fact I have actually (gasp) been using it more than my Silhouette!! I love the fact I can use my CTMH cartridges more as I can really design like I am use to with my Silhouette. For this project I used my the Art Philosophy cartridge for the egg which is on page 57 and the bunny with the bow are from Artfully Sent (see it is not just for cards) on page 41.  The grass and Happy Easter are from searching my Cricut Subscription.

Little Hoopsters

My husband and I decided to enroll our son who is 3 in his first team sport ~ basketball.  We thought it would be fun to watch him run around and play.  Well little did we realize he really was not interested despite knowing a couple of his team mates.  Well over the eight weeks we just encouraged him to play and come support his team. He was not the only one on his team with the short attention span in part due to the average age of our team (the league was 3-5 and we had mostly 3 and some 4 year olds).  In the end he did start playing in the games and in the last few minutes of the last game he actually scored a basket!!

Since I volunteered to help coach for the last game, I decided to create a card for our coach and a bit of encouragement for the team.

Great Job card ~ catscrapbooking@gmail.comThis was the card I designed and here are the team treats.

Team gifts ~ basketball ~catscrapbookingTo make the stars I used my Artiste cartridge which has a star with two slits.  I had to extend the slit on the large Outdoor Denim star to accommodate the Gogurts.  I used my Artbooking cartridge to cut the basketball. I was really happy the way these turned out and so did the kids.

I know two weeks ago for the letter “E” showed a card with I designed for a rescue organization, well here is another one.  I love making cards for anyone but to design for a rescue which works with my favorite breeds ~ Siberian Husky and Alaskan Malamutes it is awesome.  We have had several and currently have two Siberian Huskies as part of out family.  So I wanted to create something fun and unique.  I got the idea to design an Iris FOLD card for them using FOR ALWAYS paper pack.  I was really pleased the way it turned out.

  • Paper Pack ~ For Always (retired) plus gray pattern from my stash

You may be saying those colors remind me of something… Well  you are right it is the Wanderful paper pack.  When I sat down to design, I thought about using the paper pack but then decided to go a different route.  I decided to use Artfully Sent (as I have not played with it in a while) and go with an Easter theme.

Color Dare #133 ~ catscrapbooking.comI had so much fun mixing papers and colors that I got a little carried away and created three cards total.  Here are the other two.

Stampers with Attitude Blog Hop ~ Picture My Life

Welcome to the Stampers with Attitude Blog Hop!!  The Stampers with Attitude is the team lead by Kimberly Moss.  This month the Stampers with Attitude are going to be showcasing art work featuring Picture My Life (PML).  Just in case you are not familiar with Picture My Life, it is a scrapbooking program, meant for quick and beautiful memory-keeping.  This program comes in many themes, all based on the gorgeous designs of some of our most popular paper packets.  You can also find for a limited time some of the new seasonal inspirations paper packs.

If you are just hopping here from DENISE ELLIOTT’S Blog  then you are in the right spot.  The blog hop is a great big circle, so you can start here and work your way around.  If you get lost along the way, you can find the complete list of participating consultant at the end of my blog.

I chose SEASIDE  as my PML to work with of my project.  I have also been wanting to try to design a mini album using the new My Creations Mini Kraft Album.  The My Creations Mini Albums work perfectly with the PML cards as it has 10 mini page protectors which hold either one 4×6 or two 3×4 PML cards or photos.  This year my husband and I are celebrating our 15th wedding anniversary and are taking our first vacation away from our son.  I am scared and excited all at the same time.  We are going to a beach resort so I figured this would be perfect to preserve our vacation.

Seaside ~ My Creations Mini Kraft Album ~ Cover ~ catscrapbooking.comOn the cover I used two Seaside PML card which are backed in Glacier and Desert Sand.  I also used my Artbooking Cartridge for the waves using Lagoon and Glacier.  The waves are featured on page ?? of the Artbooking Cartridge booklet.  I have to admit I was elated when my preview items from the Seasonal Expressions 2 arrived yesterday. As I was struggling what to do with the cover since I knew I needed a ribbon or twine which would work with the colors on my cover and nothing in my stash quite worked.   So I am offering up a sneak-peek at the NEW GLACIER EXTRA THICK TWINE Z3039 (which will be available April 1st 2015 in the Seasonal Expressions Two)

Seaside ~ My Creations Mini Kraft Album ~ pg1~ catscrapbooking.comHere is your other sneak-peek ~ the sequins used her are from the new Oceanside collection.

I colored the White Enamel Stars to coordinate better.  The stars on the right I used the Pastel Peach marker which gave them an off white color to match the Colonial White cardstock.  These are just a few more photos of my album. As you can see I enhanced the PML cards with numerous embellishments. I added photo mats and doodled around the edges. So now once I come home from our trip all I have to do is add the journaling and photos and I have a fabulous souvenir from our trip.

Here is a full list of supplies used:

  • Picture My Life ~ Seaside A-La-Carte Z3063
  • Cardstock ~ Glacier, Lagoon, Kraft, and Colonial White
