Starting Over

Well we have arrived in Colorado and the movers finally arrived yesterday.  We had originally though they would be here on Wednesday but better late than never.  We have been working over 12 hours the past two days to get everything put away.  The good news it the house is beginning to really feel like home and we have almost tackled all the boxes.  When we have moved in the past the movers have assisted in unpacking, as it is part of the move package.  We were told that would be the case this time; however, they did not unbox a single box.  So that made it a bit more difficult but we rose to the challenge and have made a huge dent.  There are only a few areas that need to be unpacked and one is my craft room.  I am hoping to begin tackling it tomorrow when Gavin goes down for his nap.   I though I would share my journey with you, showing you the before and after photos.  I am also going to show how I organize some of my craft supplies along the way.  So lets start with the before pictures.

Before photo 1

Before photo 2As you can probable tell my craft space is smaller and it is not a nice finished room like I had last time.  But that is okay as I have a craft space and I have more natural light in this room.  I will make the most of it and it gives me the opportunity to reorganize it which is something I love to do.  It is taking all of my power not to go down and hit it hard.  Unfortunately my body is exhausted and I am moving slow so I will need to take a break and resume tomorrow afternoon.    I will post photos of my progress and show how I organize things.

Halloween is around the corner…….

We are heading into my most favorite time of year.  I absolutely love fall ….the cool weather, colors, football, and of course Halloween!!!  Some of you may be thinking of other great fall things like kids back to school (my son is not old enough for school yet) and hunting season (my brothers and dad look forward to this).   I am actually getting excited to decorate our new home for Halloween, so if you are a Halloween fan like me, then you will love this album I have designed based on my favorite Holiday.   Now I know there are a few of you out there who are not big Halloween fans – I do forgive you 🙂

When I saw the Halloween paper pack – Scardy Cat, my mind started scheming.  I have purchased Halloween mini albums in the past but I have always wanted to design one myself.  I will be selling this album as a kit which you can order and recreate on your own. Here is an over view of some of the pages…..

Scardy Cat mini album collage ~ catscrapbooking.comI designed this album using our My Creations Kraft 3-Ring Album.  If you are not familiar with this album you will want to check it out as it can be converted to what ever your theme of album you want, all you need to do is use your Cricut to cut 8X8 inch pages using the Artbooking Cartridge or design your own.  I really had fun making this album and can not wait to start adding my photos.  This album the way I designed it, has 12 pages and can hold over 30 photographs.  You may be thinking wait I don’t take that many halloween photos; no problem you can make is a collaboration of several years of Halloween fun.

When you order this kit from me you will receive color photos of each of the page layouts, detailed assembly instructions, cutting guides, over 25 pre-cut shapes and one of the images pre-stamped for you (the potions on page 2- see below photographs)  There will be two different price points for you to choose.

Level 1 $40 plus shipping – this Kit will include the following items:

  • My Creations Kraft 3-Ring Album
  • Scardy Cat Paper Pack  (some of these pages will be used for the pre-cut accents)

Level 2 $80 plus shipping – this kit will include everything in the Level 1 but will also include the following:

I will be taking orders starting mid September as I am still getting settled in the new house in Colorado and will plan to ship out the first week of October.  If any of you are reading this and would like to do this as a workshop and live in the Greater Denver area I would be more than happy to make arrangements to do so.  If you are interested please email me at

There are a few additional items you may wish to purchase to help you complete the project:

Here are a some of the pages in greater detail, starting with the cover.

Scardy Cat Album pg 2 & 3 ~

This is page two and three  of the album.  I will be stamping the tag with the “potions” in Thistle for you when you purchase the kit as level 1 or 2.  You can see the new Black Striped Twill complements the album and makes it a great must have.

Scardy Cat Album pg 8 & 9 ~

There are two pages like the one on the right that actually fold out to add more photos and interest to your album. Here is what the right page looks like when it is fully extended.

September Stamp of the Month

Here is another creation with the September Stamp of the Month.

September 2014 SOTM

I designed this card which I though would work well for a special occasion or anniversary.  I realized there are quite a few anniversaries in my family this time of year and I am in need of restocking my card stash.

SOTM 09-14 Family is Forever Card I wanted to let you know about CTMH’s new All-Purpose Mat Z2045.  I have to admit I was very exited initially about this mat but when it came I was not  as sure about it.  I was thinking it would be thick and solid sort of like the Versa Mat but larger.  Well the All-Purpose Mat came rolled up and was very thin.  One side was grippy and the other side is a dull finish – I was a bit perplexed how was I suppose to use this mat.  I decided to give it a go as CTMH would not steer me wrong(check out the video below as it will help explain about the mat).  Once I started using it all I can say is WOW!!! I really love it.  I used the dull/non glossy side to place the hearts I was heat embossing.  It was awesome as I could use a stylet to hold the heart then applied the heat while it is on the mat.  Yes you read that correctly you can apply the heat directly to the mat and it does not damage anything!  I have also used the glossy side which is sort of sticky to hold small items so they don’t get lost all over my work space.

Items used for this card:

  • Embossing Folder ~ Floral Z1994
  • Cardstock ~ Whisper, Thistle, Lagoon & Daisy White
  • Embellishments ~ Thistle Diagonal Striped ribbon Z1990, Purple Glitter Gems Z1936, Silver Shimmer Trim Z1799
  • All-Purpose Mat Z2045
