Father’s day gift

I knew as soon as I saw the Buzz & Bumble paper that this would make a great Father’s Day gift.  I had been wanting to design another frame so this would be perfect.  Unfortunately it is hard to crate something and keep it a secret from my husband since he often pops into the craft room.  So he got one of his Father’s day gifts early….

Fathers day frame

To create this frame I used the My Creations Bracket Frame Z1797, Buzz & Bumble paper pack X7164B, Honeycomb stamp set C1537,  and Burlap ribbon Z1760.  I used the spellbinders tear drop die to make the rosette. I used my Silhouette to cut the letters and hexagons.

Hope you enjoy~  Cat

Father’s Day Card

I was inspired by a side step card I saw on Pinterest after last year’s father’s day. I knew it was a card I needed to emulate.

Fathers day card 3 - Version 2

Fathers day card 1 - Version 2

For this card I used my Silhouette to cut the tools.  I used the Perfect Fit – Dad stamp set for the sentiment. I know my dad who is a true DIY guy is gong to be thrilled with this card.

Roxybonds Blog Hop ~ Buzz & Bumble / Claire

Welcome to the Roxybonds Scrappers Team Blog Hop!

 Roxybonds Scrappers

We will be featuring artwork from the Buzz & Bumble Pack and/or Claire.  I chose to work with the Buzz & Bumble paper pack.

If you have come here from Stephanie’s Blog, then you are on the right path.  Your next stop will be Emma’s Blog.

I really like this paper back as the colors are more in the neutral earth tons but you can definitely pop them with color.  I love neutral colors when scrapbooking as is allows me to really showcase my photos. I am particularly fond of the way Goldrush and Creme Brulee looks with these papers.

Buzz & Bumble Blog Hop

For this layout I used my Silhouette to cut the honeycomb border, title and honeycombs.  I used the Workshop on the Go stamp set and the Honeycomb stamp set. I used Cocoa, Goldrush, Champange, and Colonial white cardstock to complement the Buzz and Bumble paper pack. I also used on of the adorable wax seals from the buzz and bumble assortment over the rosette.

Here are a couple of cards I designed using this paper pack.

Buzz & bumble card

Using Circle Punches

Looking for creative ways to add interest and change up your layouts and cards?  While I know was all love our Cricuts or Silhouettes but sometimes is is easier to reach for a punch to use.  Have you realized that a lot of the stamp sets will use a 1 1/4″ punch?  Don’t you just love circles they are so clean an crisp and can be so fun.  Check out this video which will give you some new ideas for using your circle punches.

Hope this will inspire you ~ Cat

If you have just hopped onto my blog, please start at the beginning at Lucy’s blog – Love 2 Create .   If you came from Stephanie-Quilted Scrapper then you are in the right place!

I absolutely love these pinwheels! There are so many wonderful things you could do with them. I decided to create a card using the pinwheels.

May Pinwheels - Celebrate_0019_edited-1

When I was deciding on papers my mind immediate went to red and blue for colors.  I have also seen a lot of cool layouts using the wood grain paper from the Dakota paper pack.  So I know my color choices – Barn Red, Pacifica, Whisper and Dakota.  Using my Silhouette I cut the pinwheels and sentiment frame.  I used bakers twine to wrap the sticks to add dimension to the  card.

Here is a list of supplies used:

  • Dakota Paper pack  X7157B
  • Grey wool Bakers twine  Z1701
  • Pewter brads Z1366
  • Pinwheels Stamp Set S1305
  • Barn Red Stamp pad Z2104
  • Pacifica Stamp pad Z2192

Buzz & Bumble Card

I have been wanting to participate in some of the challenges that are out there, but time is often not on my side.  This week worked out great as when I saw this weeks Mojo Monday sketch MOJO292, I was inspired right away.

zzMojo292SketchI knew the Buzz & Bumble paper pack would be perfect for this sketch.

Mojo 292 contest card

I love making rosettes and my new trick is actually using a spellbinders die – Tear drop circles.  You make two then score between each of the tear drops; then make a slit and fold along each of the score lines.  Then glue the two together making a rosette.

Supplies used:

  • Buzz & Bumble paper pack X7164B
  • Buzz & Bumble assortment Z1831
  • Cocoa Stamp pad  Z2114
  • Champagne Stamp pad Z2174
  • Burlap Ribbon Z1760
  • Stamp Set from Buzz & Bumble WOTG G1054

Stampers with Attitude Blog Hop

Welcome to the Stampers with an Attitude Blog Hop!  The blogger in front of me is Melinda Everitt.   The Stampers with an Attitude are all excited to show you a little Art with an Attitude, so here we go…..

In March CTMH put out a wonderful video showing how to create a mini album.  I have been wanting to try one myself,  so I finally embarked on it.  The album I am creating is a little gift for my son’s godparents.   What I love about this album is the fact you can use all different papers.   For this album I used papers from the following collections Dream Pop, Later Sk8r, Avonlea, Stella, Dotty for you, and Footloose along with cardstock.  Although I wanted to show off the entire album I have only selected a few photos.

Mini Album- Gavin CoverFor the cover I used mostly the Later Sk8r paper with Outdoor denim.  I used the dimensional banners with blue epoxy bubbles.

Gavin mini album pg1

For this page you can see the great textured cardstock from the Dream Pop paper along wit one of the prints.   I love the Zoology stamp set and use it for my accents.

Gavin mini album pg4

For this page I used the adorable Bugs & Hugs stamp set.
Gavin mini album pg5

This page used retired papers but the blended so well with the color I was using for this album. It is paper form Stella and Footloose.  I also use the Footloose WOTG stamp set.Gavin mini album pg6

I did use solid cardstock on a couple of the pages to break up the patterns. On this layout I used Pear to complement the Later Sk8r paper. I used the Look Who’s stamp set.Gavin Mini album pg7

For the center of the album I liked the concept of creating a envelope, I will use this to include additional journaling.Gavin mini album pg9I really enjoyed creating this album and I hope you will try one too.  It was really easy to create and so much fun to mix up all the different pattern papers from retired and current papers.
