If you are just arriving here from KIRSTEN JADES Blog, or just starting at my blog then you are on the right track ~ Welcome!  The blog hop is a great big circle, so you can start here and work your way around. If you get lost along the way, you can find the complete list of participating  consultants on Melinda’s blog HERE.   For this hop we have about 20 consultants participating so you are going to see some fabulous artwork.

This summer my son and I are planning on getting a hike in every week so I decided I would get a jump start on the layout and create a “bucket list” of hikes we could do.  So My plan is to take a photo or two from each hike and add it to this layout.  I will plan to add pocket pages to account for the additional photos.  As we complete a hike on this list I can just check it off!

I used the Make it from Your Heart Volume 3 to create my layout.  It is based off pattern 31 which shows you how you can utilize the pocket pages for more photos, which I intend to do.  I used the Fresh Air paper pack and both the Fresh Air Cardmaking and Fresh Air Scrapbooking stamp sets.

In this photo you can see the brown dots, these are the white dots which have been colored using a brown ShinHan Marker. I also used the New England Ivy Ribbon and the Fresh Air shapes.

The adventure title was cut using my Cricut and my Flower Market cartridge.

Lovely Layers Blog Hop

Welcome to our Technique Blog Hop!  This month there are 10 of us highlighting our stamp sets that create wonderful depth with layers.  This blog hop is a great big circle so you can start wherever you want and continue through to see all the fabulous artwork.

If you are coming from DEBI MCBAIN’S BLOG, you are on the right track!

I love the new Let’s Go Fishing Stamp Set, so I decided to make it the focus of my card.

I am loving the earthy tones of the Fresh Air paper and love the wood grain paper.  I knew they would pair perfectly with this stamp set.  I used the the three layer stamp of the fish from the Let’s Go Fishing Stamp Set.  I stamped the base layer in Pebble and then rolled (also called rock-n-roll technique) it in Flaxen. The second layer is stamped in Fern and the third is New England Ivy.  I then curved the fishing line and colored it with the Golden Yellow ShinHan Marker.  I also colored the Clear Sparkles with Turquoise Blue ShinHan Marker.

I added a little sparkle to the fishing line with my Shimmer Brush.

Thanks for stopping by!  Please continue onto REBECCA COOMBS BLOG where you will find some additional artwork highlighting the awesome patterns Close to My Heart Offers!  Be sure to leave a comment and let me know what you thought and happy hopping!

I love to scrapbook and I am excited to use this paper for some our cruise from last may.  But what I wanted to show you, is if you are not a scrapbooker this paper is great for any type of papercrafting.  Here is a card that I created.

I am loving the Make it from your Heart Volume 4. If you do not own this pattern book then you are missing out.  I used pattern 7 as my basis for this design.

For my card I used the Postcard Perfect paper pack and the Aqua blue color that is in the coordinating cardstock.  I also use Silver Glitter paper and Peacock Cardstock.  I used the Postcard Perfect stamp set to stamp the flowers in Pixie ink, then I fussy cut those flowers.  I added the new White Ribbon behind the sentiment and the Bitty Sparkles to the flowers.  The sentiment if from the Fresh Air Cardmaking Stamp Set and Die and heat embossed with White Embossing Powder.

National Scrapbooking Month

Happy National Scrapbooking Day and Month!! I’ll be it I am a bit late today in posting this since the day is almost over. But it is never late to celebrate memory keeping!! I don’t complete layout as often as I want but crafting is what calms and de-stresses me! I wanted to share a couple of layouts I completed recently.  I have been able to use some to the paper packs I have been saving for  a while.

This layout I designed using the Beary Christmas paper pack.  I am not pleased with the color exposure but I am happy how the layout turned out.

This lay out is using the Dream Big paper pack.  It is one of my favorites as is it great for boy colors!

I hope you are celebrating by getting a few layouts completed yourself.  I am getting caught up with the photos I have printed.  So soon I will need to work on photos and getting them printed so I an take the next step and get them scrapbooked.

Color Dare #291 ~ Sapphire, Smoothie, Heather with optional Gold

Welcome to this weeks Color My Heart Color Challenge!  This week for Color Dare #291 we are challenging you to use (All and Only) these CTMH Colors: SAPPHIRE, SMOOTHIE  and HEATHER with the optional GOLD.  You are able to use neutrals – Black and White in your design. You can check out the rules HERE.

I am really liking the new Beautiful Friendship paper as I love blues mixed with pinks as to be honest I am NOT a pink loving gal.  So when I saw this Color Dare challenge I knew those paper would be great.

I created the two ton with the flowers from the Postcard Perfect Stamp Set by inking and stamping the flower once then rolling the edges back in the ink and stamping a second time.  This results in a first and second generation ink in one stamped image.

I did use ball embossing tool to work the center of the flowers which resulted in them curling a bit.  The Thanks is from a retired stamp set Variety of Thanks.  I decided to add a bit of gold with our Gold Shimmer Trim and the Gold Glitter Gems.

Now it is your turn to create! Just create a project (card, layout or other craft project) using this weeks colors.  Then link them to the Color My Heart Blog ~ Color Dare #291 or you can post them to the COLOR MY HEART FaceBook page.  For this Color Dare Challenge, you have until Thursday. May 17, 2018 at 10:00 p.m. Eastern Time to submit your project.   We love to see your inspirations.

May Stamp of the Month ~ Classic Summer Bash

Welcome to the Stamp of the Month Blog Hop!! This month we are featuring May’s stamp of the month ~CLASSIC SUMMER BASH (S1805) a set of 25.

If you are coming here from MISS CARRIE’S CREATIONS Blog, then you are in the right spot ~ Welcome!  The blog hop is a great big circle, so you can start here and work your way around.  If you get lost along the way, you can find the complete list of participating  consultants on Melinda’s blog HERE.  This month we have around 25 consultants participating this month so you are sure to be inspired.

I love this jar!! I knew that would be the center of my creation.  I decided to do a jar full of flowers.  I really am happy with how it turned out.  I crated more of a jar look by using white daisy cardstock as the base of the jar then stamped the jar image on velum to layer.

Here is a side view so you can see that layering.

For this card I got to play with a few of the new products from the Seasonal Expressions 2 that is now live!! I used Beautiful Friendship paper pack for the background. The flowers are Trillium Cluster – #MD6F60F which is from Flower Market.  I did slice some of the stems and leave off a few flowers but wanted to create a cluster.  I used Canary, Nutmeg, Linen and Fern as the colors for the flowers.  I used the Fresh Air Cardmaking and Die set for the sentiment.  I masked the stamp so I could get the Smile in canary ink.  I added a little of the Blue Burlap Ribbon and Clear Sparkles to finish off the card.  I did watercolor a bit of blue on the white stamped jar.

If you love this stamp set you will want to be sure you purchase it this month as it is only available the month of May and if you spend $50 on qualifying product it could be yours for $5!!

Otter Cards

So this past weekend my son was invited to a birthday party.  The party theme was otters and my son asked me to make a card for his friend.  I went to Pinterest to look for punny pal cards and stumbled on this adorable one by the Vicki Wizniuk. Here is my take on this card.

So I have been pulling out some of my retired papers to use and I saw Footloose and knew it would be perfect!  I also pulled some sequins from my stash.  I am using Punny Pals stamp set and thin cuts. I added ribbon from the Adventure pack.

Picture My Life Blog Hop

Welcome to the Picture My Life Blog Hop!

Today you will be hopping with the same talented consultants who bring you the Stamp of the Month blog hop.  Today we are featuring artwork which showcases our Picture My Life Cards.  What is Picture My Life? Well these are 4×6 and 2×3 inch cards that can be used for pocket style scrapbooking; however, they can also be used for a variety of projects.  I will use them as they are intended when I am adding flip flaps.  I will also use them on traditional scrapbook layouts as well.  But they can also be used to make cards and what ever else you can dream up.

If you are just arriving here from MELINDA EVERITT’S Blog, or just starting at my blog then you are on the right track ~ Welcome!  The blog hop is a great big circle, so you can start here and work your way around.  If you get lost along the way, you can find the complete list of participating  consultants on Melinda’s blog HERE.   For this hop we have about 20 consultants participating so you are going to see some fabulous artwork.

For my card I wanted to play with the Gimme Some Sugar papers and Stamp Set.  I then started flipping thru my stash of PML cards.  I stumbled on this PML Clear White Overlay with the “life is good” and knew it would be perfect.  I used it as on overlay over the pink checked PML card from Gimme Some Sugar paper pack.  I did trim both of those down so it would fit better on my card.

You can see in this photo the White PML Card better.  You can also see I used the Juniper twine from the Whimsy Ribbon Pack.  For a final touch I added two grey gems.  This card was based off pattern 17 in the Make it from your Heart Volume 4.

Color Dare 289 ~ Raspberry, Mink & Juniper

Welcome to this weeks Color My Heart Color Challenge!  This week for Color Dare #289 we are challenging you to use (All and Only) these CTMH Colors: RASPBERRY, MINK,  and JUNIPER.  You are able to use neutrals – Black and White in your design. You can check out the rules HERE.

I have been seeing cards with the sentiment cut out of the card and popped up.  I thought that would be great for this challenge and use a floral design.  Here is how it turned out.

In this view it is hard to see the “TH” as the stamp is pretty bold.  I used the Thin Cut – Block Letters to cut the “Thank.”  The flower is from a retired stamp set called A Budding Friendship D1602 and the “You” if from another retired stamp set called Sunny Thoughts S1802.  Here is a side view:

Here you can see how the letters are popped up.  I used the thick foam tape to pop them up.

Now it is your turn to create! Just create a project (card, layout or other craft project) using this weeks colors.  Then link them to the Color My Heart Blog ~ Color Dare #289 or you can post them to the COLOR MY HEART FaceBook page.  For this Color Dare Challenge, you have until Thursday.
